How about reversing the title: "too late for Baker to save relationship with the Browns?". Baker needs to play in 2022 at least a handful of games to show he is capable and then get a nice contract in 2023. If he was smart, he'd swallow his pride and offer to play some games in Watson's absence, win some games, show some talent, and prosper in 2023! I don't think Baker will be any better than Jacoby during Watson's likely absence. More likely, Baker will not play in 2022. Then he will sign an NFL minimum contract in 2023 in some kind of prove it deal. Meanwhile, the 2023 QB draft class looks very STRONG.
The media keeps trying to hype these silly allegations up into something they're not, which is credible. Wake me up when DW is charged with a crime, which won't happen. Because eveyone who's been paying attention knows those girls are escorts who were recruited by an ambulance chasing lawyer and they are all looking to get paid. That's why they got laughed out of criminal court. Lawsuits mean less than jack sh111t legally.

If I may disparage the Browns for one moment… it would be just their luck that Baker would have an excellent season, take them deep into the playoffs, and then leave in free agency. All the time Watson is forced to seat for two more years.

They're not going to be able to bait Baker into doing anything detrimental.. He's kept quiet for a while now and will continue to lay low. Just no upside for him to do anything other than that. The Browns will do just what Texas did with Watson last year. They'll ask him not to show up and Baker will say thank you very much and take the pay, while working out on his own. At the end of the day, the Browns have no strategy here. They're just wishing and hoping a big injury happens. That only happens once every 5-7 years, so odds are against it… So…they eventually cut him. And even if an injury did happen, remember, Jimmy G is still out there for any team needing a QB later.
