Damar Hamlin has a GFM account setup for a Christmas toy drive with a goal of $2,500. Last night 20 minutes after it happened it was at $100,000 as of this morning (5 minutes ago) it’s at $3.45 million. When he wakes up he will have helped raise millions for underprivileged children.

It doesn't appear it had much to do with the tackle. It was apparently a heart attack from what I have read .. I've seen this before with a rugby team mate and also with an opponent. It's also happened on the soccer field. People put themselves through massive fitness and strength schedules, unfortunately, this can be the result.
I'm not a huge fan of NFL, but appreciate the skills. Blaming the actual game couid ignore an underlying issue with the guy or his training. I guess we will know in due course. Hopefully he survives. Prayers for his friends and family.

I have seen that type of moment before and it was shocking and gives you shivers, In 2021 watching on TV the men's European Football (soccer) Championship. Danish International Christian Eriksen was playing in a game when he suddenly fell to the floor, the quick actions of the referee and his national captain both knew something was wrong.
Christian suffered a cardiac arrest and was "dead" for 10 minutes, the game was stopped the captain cleared his tongue and he was resuscitated later he had an ICD heart starter device fitted. In January 2022 he returned to playing professional football and last summer moved to Manchester United and recently returned to play for the Danish national team. I have also witnessed a not-so-positive incident first-hand and the memories of both will never leave and are always there
