LSU Football Recruiting got a boost when Aaron Anderson committed to Brian Kelly via the transfer portal. The 5-star wide receiver initially was with Nick Saban and Alabama. PHL breaks down what this means for the Tigers moving forward + Jack Bech’s decision to go to TCU.

Will Aaron Anderson be a Top 3 WR for Brian Kelly in 2023?
    – Type "Y" for Yes
    – Type "N" for No

Welcome AA he’s big time indeed. Bye ✌🏾 Bech! He wasn’t that Guy Carter! so how could he hurt LSU?

Don't blame the relievers when your starting quarterback won't throw the ball over 15 yards.

  5. A Mac

Damn TCU had quite a few quality players committ from the transfer portal last week…

I hate to see Jake leave. Best of luck to him. He'll alwabe a Tiger to me.

Aaron, will be our next great return man imo. I'll even say he's an upgrade and will jump Lacey on the depth chart, walking in the room. Him and the incoming class will do nothing but elevate the talent on the field. These guys will push the upperclassman and I believe we may loose a few to transfer…

Jack finna go dumb on tcu

  8. David Treuting

    Absolutely!

No not this season. Kayshon, Malik, and BTJ. Probably in 24. Definitely will be num 1 in special teams.

I hate to see Jack Bech leave LSU, but we all know Jack Bech was expecting to have a breakout season in 2022. Which didn't materialize for him primarily because BK started the worse passer on the football team at QB. As the entire WR room was severely under utilized because of that utterly unhinged decision.

Meanwhile, I bet if BK promised Bech that Nuss would be the starter in 2023, he would change his mind and recommit back to LSU.

However, Nuss is probably all but officially committed to TCU and it's all BK's fault for severely mismanaging the QB spot at LSU.

Indeed, if JD starts again in 2023, it is going to be another incredibly boring season again watching JD dropping back to pass over and over again and then refusing to throw the ball to wide open LSU wide receivers for days because he is so afraid to throw an interception, and instead watching JD taking unnecessary sacks or otherwise, gaining two yards trying to run the ball. In other words, it's going to be sort of like watching the potent Les Miles offense all over again.

Since this wide receiver room going into the 2023 season is going to be really, really deep and exceedingly talented and in fact, will be the strength of the LSU offense again just like it was last year going into the season, then one has to really wonder if Brian Kelly is going to be stupid enough again to squander away that talented WR room like he did this season by starting super dysfunctional JD again at QB and just like he did this past season?

While at the same time keeping the best player on the team, who's name is Garrett Nussmeier, riding the bench. I mean, if he does it for two seasons in a row, wouldn't that mean BK's very similar to Les Miles? I mean, it would seam that way to me.

Indeed, Garrett Nussmeier is an astronomically far better passer relative to JD, and he proved it against the best college football team in America. Nonetheless, some of you low-information wingnuts like to erroneously brand Nuss as being reckless with the football when the truth is Nuss is no more reckless than any other young QB first starting out. As virtually all new QBs throw occasional interceptions, which then slow down as they gain playing experience. Not to mention that unlike JD, Nuss possesses the arm talent to more than make up for any mistakes he may or may not make.

Had Nuss been the starter in 2022, as opposed to the super dysfunctional JD, Nuss would have inevitably led the SEC in passing yards and in TD passes thrown. I mean, he only set a new record for passing yards in a half against the best defense and the best football team in America, and he did it with virtually no playing time or playing experience to speak of because BK purposefully didn't play him to avoid controversy at the QB position.

I’m super excited about this!! 3!

  13. ray parker

Honestly I think Kayshon Boutte, Malik Nabers, and BTJ start as our main three and Kyren Lacy is our fourth and main rotator on the outside, Anderson will be our starting KR and PR and our fifth or sixth WR ahead or just behind Chris Hilton Jr. if he can stay healthy. I wonder if we look to add Zavion Thomas at all to add another returner in case of injuries if he wants to come back home.

  14. Carl Alexander

That’s a big commit for LSU to help out on special teams. With so many wide receivers on the roster will he be satisfied with limited WR reps?

  15. Famtastic Funky Bunch

Sooo since he a tiger now did he lose 1 or 2 stars In ranking??

  16. Ty Surtain

Boutte and Nabers on the outside with Anderson in the slot 😮‍💨 and then BTJ and Hilton as subs? That’s gonna be insane

  17. DMT_ZEL

His main utility is special teams to return kicks.

  18. Lanny Brasher

If we find a passing QB, he might have a good year.

  19. elchantajista

    Yes yes yes

  20. Mun3y

Don’t want him!!! They chose Bama over LSU and now some of them trying to come back. They can stay where they were or go elsewhere.
