Kirby Smart’s defensive roots stem all the way back to his playing days at Georgia, where he suited up alongside Hall of Fame safety Champ Bailey. Later coaching under Nick Saban, Smart developed the Mint defensive formation to combat modern offensive schemes. Implementing this system at Georgia has turned the Bulldogs into a defensive powerhouse.

Bro I would love to play for Kirby he holds his guys accountable and they listen he humbled everyone in the room he teaches you rather than forces you he’s producing winners and he holds them to a very high standard he makes them reach higher and higher and he tells them hey never put a cap on your success I love this type of coach only few coaches across the nation has this skillset and the ones that possess it all have won championships and all continuously develop guys their programs are always regenerating with explosive talent it’s crazy that UGA is doing the same
Good defensive coach but has given up many points to teams with explosive offenses while both at Bama and Georgia
Get a bunch of 5 star defense players and 300+ lb guys who can run 4.7s. Then run a bunch with 5 stars and don't commit turnovers.

When I was growing up, Kirby Smart was one of my favorite players at UGA. Its crazy that he's the guy to bring them back to the top, but not surprising. Dude was a relentless player so none of this is surprising.
