Dangerous game: Does football have an online gambling problem?

What is as addictive as #alcohol or tobacco, targets the young and the underprivileged and makes millions for #sports franchises? As we set our gaze beyond the ball at the pitch side billboards at €Euro2021, ads for beer and home appliances seem a dying breed. Instead, online sports betting rules. It has been more than a decade since most European nations loosened rules on online gambling. What are the consequences?

Weak governance, another failure of this failed British society. A reflection of our money centred society.

You are only scratching the surface on Football corruption.

It is not a sport it's a business. You don't support your local football teams, to support your local economy. You support the business to continue with their practices. I've already said too much, but at the same time not enough. Just maybe though it provides you with some insights/direction for how deep this rabbit hole in particular goes.

    Who do you support?

It's not for the Government to make illegal anything most don't have a problem with because a small amount of people do. This is as stupid as the war in drugs and the same as saying because some people are killed by cars, all cars should be illegal.

Sport is a load of militaristic bullshit and has no place in an advanced civilization. We are but primitives with no real culture to speak of and this fascination with young people chasing a fucking ball reflects our collective unsophistication as apes.

Weird thing gambling addiction, it takes your money which isn't even real. At least you feel other addictions, short lived high as it usually is, no-one i've ever met wins more than 10% of the time. Football is a terrible thing to gamble on as well, the worse statistically. It has a culture that is totally allowed, you can talk about it at work and no-one cares. I don't think prohibition is the answer however, it isn't with other addictions, it isn't with gambling, it should be treated as a mental health problem. If there was a law letting people know the odds of the average winning rates then people would think twice instead they intice you with how much you could win. The same tactic is used by pushers. Knowledge is key

And they pull similar shit in videogames now too, influencing young kids to get their parents debit/credit cards and drain them for all their worth! Ad companies trying to sell gambling everywhere is insidious

    Gambling should be illegal 🤔

Gambling shows exactly where the governments priorities are, with billionaires and there companies not with the people.

People Make Games recently released a video about how video games companies (Valve) are also getting kids into gambling and is technically being allowed. It's mental this stuff is considered okay IMO.

Despite the economic downturn, I'm so happy😊. I have been earning $ 60,200 returns from my $7,000 investment every 13days•+.💶💶

Without big money sponsors, football celebrities and managers will seek different career as their income plummets to a more realistic income. Unnecessary big wages are also addictive to all football celebrities and to the entire humanity, not just in gambling 🤡

Should be confined to having to physically go to a betting office to make bets , like it used to be. The rates of addiction were much less and there was more control in many ways. It was still an addiction for some , but the damage was far less.
