Matt Miller wasn't at the senior bowl so his board was off
Wouldn’t say D maybe a C- the lowest but overall addressed the defense side
I'll admit it. The thought of Parsons at 10 made me sick. I'm just not a fan of drafting defense in the Top 10 in general….unless he's a Chase Young or a Bosa type of sure-fire pass rusher. But at 12 it's a lot better to deal with, especially that extra 3rd.
But it wasn't until Kelvin Joseph that I started feeling better about Parsons. Once they added a Top 20 talent to play Corner, I could breathe easier & start to enjoy the Parsons pick. And honestly, I think they did win out. Parsons & Joseph are better than Surtain & a Nick Bolton 2nd round LB.
I'll also admit that Jaylon Smith had me wary of more 6'3 245 pound off ball LBs. At first glance they are awfully similar. But with Parson's 4.3 proday had me looking at him again and his lateral movement is leagues better than Jaylon…at least post-injury Jaylon. And I really do like his blitzing skills. Especially with Devin White proving you don't have to be on the edge to get your team 9+ sacks. And yeah, maybe it actually is important to have that "pass rusher" coming from the middle like that. Not many teams have that dynamic & will have to be something teams gameplan against that they normally wouldn't spend time gameplanning.
