The Berlin Derby sees East Berlin side Union face West Berlin rivals Hertha in the Bundesliga for the first time in history. The two teams were once bound by friendship, despite being divided by the Berlin Wall. But thirty years after the Wall came down, Union are suddenly challenging their established neighbours for the capital city crown. The friendship is long gone; only rivalry remains.

Greuther Furth have been awful this year with just three wins in 31 matches, owning a 3-8-20 record and a historically bad 25:76 goal differential. Spent a week in Berlin last year for the Berlin marathon and the day before the 42km run we got to run in the friendship run from Shloss Charlottenburg to Olympiastadion. Next time I'm in Berlin I have to attend one of these matches.
