    I agree that 1982, 86, 70 and 98 should be in the top 5. 2022 will be there. So glad they did not try to overrate Italia 90 because that World Cup was not that great because of some of the violent fouling, diving, time-wasting, etc.

    The 1982 World Cup is still the greatest WC…the most dramatic one – classic games, an incredible attack minded Brasil team, the world's introduction to the legendary Maradona, a world cup full of villains and heroes and tears! It was also the world cup of lots of firsts that forced FIFA to make changes to the game. It was also televised in every corner of the world and is considered by many the start of the modern era of the World Cup. It truly became a massive global event after 1982.

    2010 was the worst
    1)Jabulani – the worst ball
    2)Cold weather in SA dampened the party spirit
    3)Annoying Vuvuzelas killed the atmosphere inside the stadia
    4)So many great players were injured before the start of the tournament
    5)So much defensive tactics and boring matches. Even the final was a dead rudder until Iniesta scored.
