TJ is her to break down the Mountain Dew Three Point Contest in the NBA on Saturday night for NBA All Star Weekend. For the Three Point Contest this year, there are not many big name NBA players. TJ is comparing the odds for all of the players on FanDuel sportsbook.
TJ takes a look at some statistics to try to determine the value for this contest. He looks at the 3 point percentage for all of the players. Luke Kennard leads the way in that statistic.
The corner 3 point percentage is probably the most important stat because this is the last rack that the contestants shoot and it usually determines the outcome. Zach Lavine leads this statistic and has knocked down 57% of his corner threes this year.
In the final state, TJ looks at all of the clutch 3 pointers that these contestants have made. CJ McCollum leads the league in the clutch 3 pointer percentage. Based on the statistics, TJ believes that Karl Anthony Towns has no shot to win this contest.
Based on comparing all of these statistics, TJ believes he has found the winner for this contest. TJ will be taking Luke Kennard at +600 odds to win the contest. The other two players that he likes are Patty Mills at +440 odds and Fred VanVleet at +440 odds as well.
