Still didn't understand why it's called football..why is it called "football" when they hold the "egg " like object in their "hands" and just run?
My son explained the breaks of the game to me while we watched. This video nicely filled the blanks and helped settle in what I learned while I watch an uploaded NFL game so as not to look dumb next time. We used to watch NBA when they still played Basketball and they don't upload any games anyway. So, NFL, what's not to like? Thank you for the effort that went into this 🙂

I would add that the positions in football are a way to strategize the game for the coaches, but it means something else to the refs.
Refs dont see a distinction between a full back a running back a tight end or a wr.
All they see is 5 ineligible guys (oline) and the defenseless passer. An ineligible guy means he cant catch or run the ball and he cant go downfield before the ball is thrown.
But because of the different positional objectives some flags are called more for certain positions. Pass interference is usually called on the defense, but can be called on the offense as well.
