Kind lame how Tatis Jr. Topps rc is a landscape card. He obviously wasn’t on the radar with a ton of hype when the product was released. But in my opinion landscape cards don’t look good in PSA holders.

Also would now be a good time to pick up some slabbed Tatis Jr. and to a lesser degree Robert, Soto, and Acuna Jr. ?? Tatis is tanked from its value before his PED thing

I sell singles on eBay that most card collectors would throw in the trash. If you are a true collector and not in it for a quick buck, you will always find value somewhere in the hobby! Just this week I sold a 1978 Donruss All-Pro Skateboarding card back to the skateboarder on the card. He shared some cool trivia about the set with me and it would have never happened if I didnt take the time to list the "dollar card" on ebay!

Thanks for all that you do, Chris!

The need for grading rose because up until the mid 90s, card companies had a petty poor quality control problem. Now some of those are taken greatly into consideration during the grading process ( 79-0 o pee chee come to mind). But the vast majority had enough come out fine to where that isn't necessary. Modern cards don't have the myriad of issues older ones did, you'll never see centering of 90/10 on modern cards not to mention glue or gum stains. Card stock is thicker so damage coming out of a pack isn't as prevalent. There are sets that are prone to chipping but that's becoming a smaller percentage. These are factors in the numbers you see on the pop counts. And should be included in the thought process of even sending a card to be graded. Grading a base card of LeBron that isn't a rookie or possibly a second year card is just dumb and was not really done till the last few years.

Chris could I ask? How many of these cards do you own in your PC?
    Another interesting video

I collect Young Guns. Under rated for sure. You can open a whole case of 20-21 UD Series 2 (12 boxes) and only get 1 Kirill Kaprizov Young Gun. Rare and affordable because all the new collectors want basketball and football.

Welcome to the new junk era. 2018-2022 have been way overproduced as this video shows.

  8. Colin Dolan

Great video. I'm glad I have none of these cards. I think panini should cut back on the mass production of base cards. Just little. My opinion.

I’d like to know the most PSA 10s in football.

Im just getting into the hobby again and am curious how accurate does everyone think the pop counts actually are . I always hear about people resubmitting thinking they should have gotten a better grade. Just recently one of the channels i happened on said they did a submission and forgot to clean the cards before sending them. so they were going to redo them and resubmit.

Great video Chris. Ultra Modern Card era could be also called JUNK WAX ERA 2. Same problem of overproduction just sliced into a hundred variants. Unfortunately card production is going to have experience another early 2000’s to correct market. May be painful but needed.

Someone needs to sub a 1983 Fleer #20 Gene Roof card, so I can complete my Cardinals set.

Dominguez was pure spec hands down. We'll see if he was worth it once he gets the call to the majors.

The junk slab era is fast approaching. Most of us saw this coming for ultra-modern.With the huge over-production of recent years and the massive number of slabs there are going to be many very nice cards — 8, 8.5, 9 — that no one will want to buy as their price gets closer to raw. Heavier and more expensive to ship as well. COMC charges more to house them, etc. I have never collected, bought or sold ultra modern but a lot of folks are going to be listening to the dance-band on the Titanic in the not so distant future.
