A 12 team playoff, they have a hard time getting 4 teams that are worthy.12 teams is a money grab.

  2. Shana Uncry (Orlando FL - Sea WDW Univ Passholder)

4 Teams is a tad too low, 6-8 Teams is fine, 12 is ridiculous.
First, Player Agents will opt their Players out of the games due to the risk of being injured before a NFL Contract
Second, 9-12 teams are not going to win. Too many 4 Star, 5 Star Recruits and good coaching from the top teams.
Third, the Semi Finals already have several blowouts already, and this will increase the number of them as to were a bowl game puts two teams of equal skill against each other
Fourth, it ruins the point of watching the regular season games since win or lose your making it to the playoffs with 12 as compared to 6 or 8.

I’ve been having this same idea and thought about the college playoff format for the last 5 years

Does this mean we can finally get rid of the CFP committee and just use the polls?

  5. KelleyDon Patterson

This 13 man mostly ADs committee led by Bo Carrigan are failing badly, and ALL them need to be replaced. Every division from Pop Warner up has a decent playoff system except this inept division why? go to a real playoff system and stopped this terrible mess which they have created.

Just make it a 9 game regular season

  7. allen panicker

Well now going undefeated doesn’t need it be the biggest priority

8 teams would make more sense. 5 power 5 champions, 3 at large

  9. Ryan Williams

There's actually more of a possibility for Power 5 conferences to get multiple teams in and NOT be the usual suspects due to expansion. More and more Group of 5 teams are joining Big 12 with Pac-12 coming. All the Power 5 want 16 members. Just comes down to TV deals and money.

  10. Mont Evans

Win the conference you are in. To me it gets no more fair than that.

  11. Peter Wang

So are they getting rid of the conference championships?

  12. Mac

Crazy how many cfb “fans” want less games…

  13. [SCLA]MisterBig

Every Team that wins their championship division game gets a playoff spot period

They trying to stop the SEC from dominanting so bad! 😂 pay them boys!

  15. Harold Bolden

    Bout time

  16. Nathan Jones

I guess they might get more different teams to the final championship game this way but it’ll only because of attrition and some luck on injuries allowing second chance upsets,

  17. Chase Helmick

Get rid of nonconference games and the winner from each conference at the end the season goes to the playoffs simple simple

  18. umainebearman

Don't be mad at SEC teams because they are always better than yours, be mad at yours because they suck at recruiting. It's just something else you're all bad at.

  19. Matador Co

    This is terrible

  20. Cesar Garcia

Every other lower level is doing it!
