The 1984 NBA Draft Documentary – Oscar Schmidt

Brazilian Oscar Schmidt was drafted with the 131st pick in the sixth round by the New Jersey Nets. However, Schmidt turned down the offers to play in the NBA and stayed to play in Italy and later in Brazil. He played in five Olympics and was the top scorer in three of them. He finished his career with 49.737 points with various clubs and the Brazilian national team. In 2010, International Basketball Federation (FIBA) honored Schmidt with an induction to the FIBA Hall of Fame and Schmidt was inducted by the Naismith Hall in 2013.

How did they impede the man from playing with his national team. I wish he cluldve played in the NBA as well as for his National team

  2. TRUNKS TORRES

THEY PLAY COLLEGE PLAYERS NOT NBA PLAYERS

  3. Caio Felipe

Faltou so a legenda em português

  4. Edwin Serrano

He chose to play for his country before joining the NBA. Several US players have turned down playing for Team USA over the years….just saying.

Some wrong thinking that someone must be great in what he do if he is in a league or a member of an organization just like in Pro-wrestling: the WWE and in here basketball: the NBA etc…

  7. Henrique Campelo Junior

  8. Half Dead Hoodlum ☠️

  14. gorr the gay person butcher

Comparing ayton to hakeem is criminal

  15. Karter Lovell

    Shai is John Stockton

  16. Daniel Callanan

Don't EVER EEEEEEEEEEVER compare Luka fatasss fukin doncic to Michael Jordan!!!

  17. zeke

Both ayton and hakeem reach the finals at age 23 too

  18. VoidWasTakenAgain

For rockets Fans Hakeem is the goat. He’s a past day Lebron. Was on a team of scrubs. Not including miami that team was goated. Then got a sencodary star to win a championship. Then both formed a super team that failed expectations.

  19. Bye

Luka not as good as trae

  20. B1G JAKE-O

There already comparing luka to Jordan 😯

  21. RoundMaster

The Chuck and Trae comparison is kinda stretching it

  22. rayjacker10 Booker

Also hakeem lost his first nba finals against a team who wears green and so did Ayton and people are criticizing young luka like they did Jordan bc they both was just seen as scorers so hopefully luka can take some lessons from mj and mature enough and have better teammates he can be in the goat conversation

  23. Gregory Fosdal

Not repeat itself but it certainly rhymes

  24. YvngGoat

No way this man compared Luke to MJ

  25. Lloyd Rawling

I think trae and Barkley are a bad comparison, Barkley beat all the expectations where as Trae was questioned on defense due to his size and is still a lackluster defender. Everyone knew Trae would be gifted on offense but people were scared Barkley couldn’t handle the top level of talent at all due to his size and he wouldn’t have been able to play a smaller position due to skill set.

  26. poko nong

Just like jordan, luka also keeps losing in the first round. just like hakeem, ayton also made the finals early in his career

  27. Michael Jordan

I like Luka, but he’s nowhere near MJ. And, Ayton is nowhere near Hakeem lmao.

  28. Jad Sbeiti

    the trae wearing shorts tho

  29. Jack Bradley

Given enough time history will always repeat itself

  30. Isaac

to be fair, nobody thought MB was gonna go second lol

  31. Steven

Luka might not reach MJ but he'll be an all time legend when he retires

  32. Landon Eddy

    The draft of ‘84 😂😂😂

  33. JK16

Suns didn’t go wrong when they picked Deandre Ayton.
