In this video my brother Mark, aka MFA, goes over further into the world of sports betting and this time explains how to read the Moneyline and Total betting columns. The moneyline is simply the payout you get if you bet on a team to win regardless by how many points. The payouts are described in our earlier video on How to Read Betting Odds, in the related videos below. The Total is used for betting on the total combined points by both teams, in terms of whether it will be over or under the actual combined points.
An example of the moneyline betting is betting on Cleveland Cavaliers to beat Golden State Warriors at a moneyline of +170. This means that if you bet 0 that Cavs win, then you win a profit of 0.
An example of the total is betting on over, assuming the Cavs vs Warriors total is 240(-120)o. If that actual outcome of the game is 140-120 for the Cavs, then if the bet was 0, you would win 0, since the payout odds are -120.
For more info on the betting odds and further sports betting make sure to watch our earlier videos.

I don't always bet on LeBron James vs. Kevin Durant but when I do I usually bet on both the moneyline and total 😉

How does it work for -145?
Cashout
So total has nothing to do with the teams?
Therefore….if I win the money line. I'm going home with $145..meaning, I get back my $100 and also we add on an additional $45. So my bank account will be $145, therefore I really only won $45.
Or…does this mean I would obviously keep my $100, and then I would have another $145 added too my bank account? So I would now heave $245 in there?
Please help, I'm stupid and confused! 🤣
Clear and simple. 👌🏽
wow simple video ty
So can I bet the money line and the totals, in one bet?
On betting san diego moneyline at a +145, does that mean if i bet 100 I get 145 profit or 145 is the 100 i bet and 45 in profit
Thx….all i needed to know in under a few minutes👍🏼
