God is good. Even those who claim they don't believe in God, if their loved one were near death and made a miraculous recovery, would say God is good, even if in secret.

They don't need to place a protective pad over the heart. The NFL refs need to enforce the lowering of the head by the offensive player and spearing the defensive player which the NFL years ago said is illegal!

That swing that Soriano hit the homer on was perfect in the 2001 WS. Schilling through a perfect splitter, and Soriano put a perfect swing on it. Had the Yankees held on, that would have been one of the best homers in Yankee history; now, it is a footnote.

Mike, first off, Happy New Year to you and your family. But I have a gripe with you. You spoke about the player for the Buffalo Bills. But I'm curious as to why you never mentioned him by his name. His name is Damar Hamlin. Now, I have listened to WFAN and you and Chris, and you when you went solo. Obviously, I'm a loyal listener who respects you and your sports knowledge. Did you not know Mr. Hamlins name? This was a unique and potentially life-threatening injury. I noticed you mentioned Goodell by name, although not in a flattering way. This is just an observation after listening to this podcast twice. Btw, the Giant's beat the Packers in London. All the best to you and your family in '23

Giants were in the same position in 2016 vs Washington. Giants were locked in as wildcard Washington needed to win to make playoffs. Giants went all out played their starters and won. Giants then got blown out by GB next week in playoffs It doesn’t always happen like 2007 do what you need to do to get ready for the playoffs

This is hilarious Mike. It ain’t the sport, it’s the stick

Doctors in Cincy (see interview) downplayed commotio cordis.
They said it was very rare and they had other more standard and usual things to investigate.
Bills staff said he had a pulse when they got to him
Hamlin benched 225 lbs 18 times at the combine (12x is equivalent to benching 300lbs).
Kids who get hurt by contact are young and their chests are thin.
Anything bigger or smaller than a baseball wouldn't be a problem
A baseball, fist etc size needed.
The hit Hamlin took was routine – would not make anyone's top hits of 2022.
Its crazy that media ignores 90k/yr deaths from Fentanyl (and murders on the streets) but the media wants to push dangers of contact in football

Year in year out for all of my adult life I have listened to this guy and I suspect I will be listening on my deathbed, yeah he is that good and I am that demented and yes I love the Dog as well. It's something as I listened through my work life and now retirement. Happy New Year Mike and everyone. God Bless us All.

The Yankees played the infield in for that last AB. I was screaming at the TV for them to play at double play depth. That would have been an EASY out

  15. Jim Werther

Is this Mike's first show this week? I never heard him discuss the Giants and Jets games of this past weekend.

  16. dave

Hey mike. You did not care about Stan Lee, very selfish

When did Mike come up with this “mirrors” term?

Sports getting into societal issues and politics is frustrating to me. I’d say a majority of sports fans feel that way. I’m a diehard football fan baseball hockey and basketball fan. When I watch the games it’s an escape from every day life, so I don’t want to see that stuff in sports. It’s bad enough it’s starting to seep in to TV and movies. Just my humble opinion.
