Real Madrid report racist abuse Vinicius Junior suffered at Valencia as a hate crime

Real Madrid have reported the racist abuse Vinicius Junior suffered at Valencia on Sunday as a hate crime, while the winger said LaLiga “belongs to the racists”.

Vinicius was targeted by chants from sections of the crowd at the Mestalla during Real Madrid’s 1-0 loss to Valencia, with the game being stopped in the second half for 10 minutes as the visibly angry 22-year-old grabbed the referee and pointed towards fans who he felt had abused him.

Vinicius was later sent off for violent conduct in added time following an altercation with striker Hugo Duro.

He tweeted after the game: “It wasn’t the first time, nor the second, nor the third. Racism is normal in LaLiga. In football they think it’s normal, the federation does too – and the opponent encourages it.

The Gunners’ title bid ended with a limp 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest on Saturday as Pep Guardiola’s side were crowned Premier League champions for the fifth time in six years.

Arsenal were eight points clear of City earlier this season and topped the table for 248 days over the course of the campaign, but their challenge collapsed with a run of only two wins from eight games.

Darren Lewis & Melissa Reddy discussed what went wrong for Arsenal towards the end of the Premier League season and the quality of Pep Guardiola’s side.

    NONE of this surprises me.

What should have happened was the Valencia players stop the game, run over and point out the f*cking racists, get them arrested, prosecuted and banned for life from ANY stadium. THIS would have given me so much more respect for the players and people.

    But no…

What’s happening in spanish stadiums is the reflection of the Spanish society!

I live in Spain, and he’s absolutely right. I’d say that it’s not as bad as Italy but that doesn’t make it fine

I don't understand how are people saying vini is at fault after all this. Why ? Because he dances and fires up the fans ? The reaction from the fans is racist slurs ? Absolutely disgusting

How is this still a serious conversation. Money alone does not create such a team. we spending and winning. others are spending and losing… that seems like a better perspective. we've even been spending less

  21. Auburn Jansen

Financial fair play they still have cases going on because of their financial fair play so I don't know why they wouldn't league if they corrupt

  22. Rose Marie Gentles

Quite interesting content, I thoroughly enjoyed listening you guys explaining why Manchester City is the way they are…. Money is is a major factor but money without such an enigmatic coach moving the pieces as if you’re playing an intense game of chess all would be futile, like Chelsea, just saying. God Bless Manchester City ❤🙏🏽

  23. matt halsey

So easy with unlimited state oil money, will win the next 6 or 7 titles in a row now 😴

  24. ScottishJP

100% Man City bought the league

  25. Francesco Fontecchio 🇮🇹

I've been saying this since the beginning of this accused ffp rules violation the most likely outcome is City will be found not guilty of all the financial charges and be found guilty on 2 or 3 obstruction charges for not cooperating with the FA and will receive some large fine 30 million plus I'd expect but thats nothing for City people who think they could get relegated or have titles stripped are gunna be disappointed imo

  26. Shashi Ali

Pep legacy is validated on the Football Filed and not in the boardroom.

  27. Dennis Reynolds

It might have something to do with their 1 million ffp charges 😂😂😂

    City success due to Outspending?🤔

  32. Nirvana Bliss

Why is Melissa on this panel, she is through and through liverpool fan. She would never truly recognise City's brilliance.

  33. Nirvana Bliss

City is showing how its done from the top to the bottom to succeed. Recruitment top notch, characters top notch, organisation top notch. Its just a top notch club, an example for every one out there. Other clubs have spend a lot of money too but their success is nowhere to be seen. A true football fan would appropriate this Club 👏

  34. King Solomon

There isn't a player at City we couldn't afford at United. They are run as a football club, Manchester United are run as a business club.

  35. Mark Harris

    Christ that girl can waffle

  36. Sheraiah Larcher

City are just a better run club from top yo bottom. Arsenal have made great strides this year but need more money spent on quality back up for the squad and a better more clinical number 9. It's that simple. If there was a top player sitting on the bench who could come on for Saka he would have been rested more, simple as. The same with Saliba. Its exactly what hurt us as well last year going for top 4. Ee goy some injuries and fell apart eith our lack of quality depth. It's such a shame Pepe wasn't the player we thought we were buying for the money. Then again if he was, Saka would be the quality back up coming on off the bench to help carry us to the title. Man City are the richest most well run club in the league but Arsenal need to take heart from the fact that City didn't simply walk it to the title this year because they definitely had the quality to. Thank goodness there have been teams like Arsenal and Liverpool in recent years to really test City and make the league more interesting for football fans. It would be terrible if the Prem become like Germany, France or Scotland.
