It would have been so funny if you took pictures of you in europe and sent it to your "friend"
I've never even won the lottery I just have a salary paying job and people bug me for money
Heres a tip: dont sell real estate; its an appreciating asset. Instead, rent the home to renters
if I ever win the lottery I'm changing my name and I'm moving out of the house there's no way in hell but I'm going to let anyone get my money for any reason
If I won the lottery, I would discreetly exit the place, hide the ticket. Then I would deposit it into a secret bank account and would not tell a soul, not even my closest family. Fame can ruin your life.
If your well fed, brush your teeth and have a good dress sense, everyone can smell you have money.
Dress like a poor person and no one will bother you.
Able bodied people always "want".
I befriended a good man a year ago and he told me he had won the lottery years ago. Apparently, he grew up in the hood, so everyone knew each other and your business and people would always ask for help when they noticed you were doing well enough for yourself. He also told me you couldn’t go anywhere in his area without someone seeing you.
Because of this, as soon as he found out he had won, he immediately went to his State’s Capital, claimed his money and skipped town. I remember him telling me he drove 3 hours to the next major city, scratched out his VIN and took his license plates before ditching his car, then getting a taxi to take him to the airport.
Once he got to where he wanted to go, he blocked all of his contacts and stayed at a hotel for a few nights so he could come up with a solid game plan on what to do with his money. He ended up getting the usual house and car but he also legally changed his name and put his money in a high-yield investment account.
The dude doesn’t look rich, he doesn’t throw any parties or tells people how he earned his money. He doesn’t even bring up how much money he has. From the looks of him you would never even guess he was well-off. Only less than a handful of people, myself included, actually know him and would never reveal who he is
Lol- my mom and older sister were alcoholics and d/ addicts when I was young, and they would bother (14/15YO) me for money every month.
I started asking for double and triple owe backs that my mom and her boyfriend sobered up and got proper jobs over a year later because how expensive it was to deal with me.
I just stopped giving money to my sister. Just because.

As a HS student I started a small business selling candy at school to pay for an upcoming project so my parents wouldn't have to, and because I'm at a boarding school, $1000 was stolen from me😭
Om Shanti!
I was a single mom and had lots of friends who were single moms as well.
The only difference was my baby daddy made a lot of money and gave me several thousand a month in child support. I was happy to pick up the check whenever we went out, bought things for their children and helped whenever I could.
My one friends daughter had a baby and named me the Godmother. The friend called me upset because Medicaid no longer covered circumcision. I asked her how much and sent her the money. I also helped care for my God Son, including diapers and bath.
The boy is not circumsized. My "friend" scammed me to support her shopping addiction.
I'm also curious about the hillbillies. What does that look like in South Africa??
Won $7.8m but nobody asks for anything since I spent it all on bars of precious metals
My family seems to be out of the ordinary. When somebody gets a bonus or lucky streak nobody asks for anything. Money is a tool for us, not our whole existence. We are relatively happy as we are now, why change for the worse?….
Nobody believes me when I tell people that I wouldn't want a large amount of money. Sure, with a small amount, maybe a million, it's nice to know that your bills are paid for. A little more, and you can even help family if you wish. Too big a win however, is a headache.
For starters, you are going to have every bleeding heart group imaginable demand money from you. This included the government. After all, they say that you need to pay your share of the National debt. They borrowed the money; let them repay it. Also, I don't consider organizations to be charities, when their top brass makes 5, 6, sometimes even 7 figure salaries. People donate for the good cause, not to make someone rich.
Then, every family member and friend you never heard of, never knew existed, will want to borrow money. Of course, borrow is a relative term. It implies that they intend to pay you back. Trust me, they won't. You give them money, and you'll never see or hear from them again. If they are not close, immediate family, forget it.
Next comes the frivolous lawsuits. Some greedy fool hears that a millionaire lives nearby, then rushes over to accidentally "trip" in front of your home. They sue you for a hundred thousand, but will gladly settle for less than it cost you to get a lawyer. They hope you see it as not worth fighting over, and settle. They get free money.
i know this story is stupid but i can share it still, i was raised by my aunt and uncle and they had 3 kids (my cousins and i was the youngest of us 4)…. my uncle would give me 5 dollars a week while giving their 2 youngest children 25 a week i went to public school so i got free lunch they went to private school so they had to buy lunch thats why i got 5 and they got 25…i promise you u wasnt treated like an unwanted child lol….the oldest was an adult by this time so no allowance for him (he also went to public school)
but anyway. at like 11 i saved my 5 dollars a week until i saved up 100….20 weeks….straight at 11… i dont even have that discipline now and im 28.
being a stupid little kid i shared my accomplishment with the single worst cousin out of the 3…..one wouldve snitched on me and the eldest was never home.
a week later he asks me to borrow my 100 dollars to buy a phone so he can talk to his little high school gf at the time….
never saw that money again it broke me.
its a repressed memory i just recalled after almost 20 years because that same cousin who is 5 years older than me borrows money from me like crazy… i have a hard time saying no especially because we live together and he sees me go to work everyday….he's into real estate and sometimes he doesnt make sales. so money is not consistent for him.
working on moving out though.
If the state if making your building a historical building without your say-so they should have to pay for all costs and repairs, that shit aint right.
I’m glad I live in a state where you can remain anonymous (Texas) if you win the lottery.
