Overview

We were definitely looking forward to testing K2’s new super-playful all terrain model the Pinnacle 95. It didn’t disappoint. It’s so impressive we’ve given it the runner’s up spot in the overall Ski-of-the-Year award. Using Konic Technology and Nanolite keeps the weight down but still provides plenty of performance. Wood and metal with sidewall construction ensures grip; 95mm underfoot and plenty of rocker equals maximum versatility. Set to be a classic and it’s already our choice as a one-ski option.

Tester’s comments:

Matt (from our Covent Garden store) Looked really cool and performed just as well. The large amount of rocker made it very manoeuvrable but it also felt stable which is unusual with less edge. The construction makes it very solid and really fun all over the mountain.

Simon (from our Cambridge store) Surprisingly agile and responsive on hardpack but playful and light in powder.

Mark (Trainer) Even if you’re not a fan of the lime green but are looking for a fun, poppy and versatile, you NEED to try it. The new core keeps the weight down without softening it too much which makes them super playful. The V shape profile gives loads of float in the nose off-piste whilst allowing the waist to be a suitable 95mm all mountain width. Well done K2!

The Pinnacle 95 has received some updates this season to be more responsive and more powerful for the advanced to expert skier who spends half of their time on the groomers and the other half searching for fresh snow. Beefed up wood in the core and metal laminates deliver extra stability anywhere you ski. K2’s NANOlite Technology has a super light, low density, aerospace grade composite in the center of the ski that has the same strength and stability as wood or metal but is very lightweight. Konic Technology pulls heavier material away from the center of the ski towards the edges that lower the swingweight and increase your maneuverability. Taper in the tip and tail prevent the tips and tails from getting hung up when things get deep. If you want a well-rounded ski for ripping anywhere on the mountain, the updated K2 Pinnacle 95 will be a perfect ski for you.
