What an amazing thing to do for Chris, he’ll really e joy it. On a different note I bought an ml280 three weeks ago and the alternator wouldn’t charge as bad oil leaks covered it in oil , it is now not drivable until all repaired, the dealer did not tell me all the faults, paid £2500 repair bill expected £3000 very rare car with the same colour black as Chris so will get repaired and get a discount from supplier, mine looks awesome. Just found legit cars … awesome and very informative … hearing you rave about ML very reassuring. Well done

Definitely, Buick 3800 Series 2. I loved that engine. I wish I could have it in my Cadillac CTS, instead of the 3.6 LFX . No DI carbon built up. No timing chain failures. No double overhead cam multi-valve complexity. Why did GM follow that awful DI trend.
The 4 cyl Volvo B18, B20, B30 engines from the 60's and early 70's. My dad put at least 500k miles on a few of these babies (i.e. 144, 145, 164); EACH. Those Volvo's were bullet proof.
