   Sure, this method works if there are somewhat substantial swings. I have bet and lost games with this basic strategy in mind, but the favorite never lets up and blows the underdog out. This whole hedge betting never works in the long run. You are better off identifying value betting, a completely different strategy.

   This really does work. If you shop the underdog later you get a better price. Sometimes you can bet the favorites early and when it’s closer to the game start grab the dog with more points

   I do this all the time in basketball. I usually play the dog on money line when the spread is 4-7 points. I will take they low spread with the favorites every time it ticks down. So I would say I middle more. But I love the patience you have waiting for the favorite to become the underdog.
