I took $100 and turned it into $1k in several months. It wasn't sexy or exciting, but that's all I was willing to lose and the low numbers kept me disciple and it forced me to learn and do research.

it takes serious focus and discipline to make this a job

On Martingale: It is predominantly used for 50/50 bets, and it also is called a "Chase" system. Usually, a bettor will establish a limit on his upper bet. For instance, in Doc's Sports handicapper's Alan Eastman's (Ace-Ace) thread a few years ago on RX Forum, he had a thread called Break the Bank or go Broke Trying. He established a Chase with a limit of seven bets, or "Legs" in the chase system. Keep in mind that for a doubling system such as Martingale, one has to take vigorish into account (unless one bets every bet at +100 or higher). In this case, for typical -110 ($1.91), he used the following bet levels: 10, 21, 43, 90, 189, 397, and 834, a total of a $1584 bankroll for $10 ($9.10) wins. Alan was successful in the two or three years he rand this thread, in fact, he doubled the leg amounts the second year and tripled them in the third year. But he went to edge of the cliff several times, actually was 7-7 on Leg 7 wins. While I never bet in this fashion, an $834 bet trying to cover a $9.10 win is not exactly my idea of a good time. I'll stick to my rigid system.

6:40. I can turn 400 to 577. Almost easily. In basketball first half. Watch for a team with a 10 or more point lead. Especially at the end of the 1 qtr. Say 25-15. Id bet race to 40. If i get the odds at -225. I only need the team at 25 to score 15 and the team at at need to score 25. It works alot.
