HOPE Global Forums 2016 – Athletes Giving Back

The world of professional sports has cultivated a league of philanthropic all-stars. Although sometimes perceived as financially irresponsible or unstable, many professional athletes are driving high-impact results through various causes and foundations. A breakout session at the 2016 HOPE Global Forums | Annual Meeting, moderated by Walter Jordan, former NBA player, featured Dikembe Mutombo, NBA Hall of Famer; Chairman & President, Dikembe Mutombo Foundation; and Michael Clayton, veteran wide receiver and Superbowl XLVI champion; Founder, Generation Next Foundation, to highlight the high impact work and wins of athletes off the playing field, as they assist their communities—locally, nationally, and globally. This new community is a platform to extend the engagement and dialogue around this topic.
