ESPN is just trying to buy the Big 10 and SEC and not all the country watches those teams nor want to. It is boring to watch Ohio State or Alabama win over and over again. How long was it before Georgia won the SEC this last year. Boring.!!!!! And the Bama LSU game of 3 – 0. BORING!!!!!
I think alot of people will be surprised with how the lower tier FBS, and FCS programs will flourish as the major programs begin a new chapter of college football. I live in a college town, where the school that is located here was a dominant D2 program, and now is an FCS program. This program has slowly grown over the few years that it has been in D1/FCS. And I have no doubt that if and when we see the major programs become a separate group from the NCAA, that they will be successful. Yes there is going to be programs that have to eliminate football. But It is probably for the better for their schools. Whatever happens, people will adjust. Some will stop watching, some may start watching the smaller FCS/FBS schools. Regardless people will watch.
The SEC, ESPN and FOX sports are the ones that started this mess. Where this will end will ultimately hurt the game. The game we grew up watching, the 100 year old rivalries. So much of this we are losing. NOT WORTH IT.
SEC should have added USC and UCLA instead.
Nice deflection on the impact on the leftover schools. I believe they have a different take on it if you ask them. Ijs.
Both the SEC and ESPN should have an anti-trust suit filed against them imo.
All of these big schools are going to be playing eachother within there conference that means they are all going to have losses which leaves the door open for smaller schools to get in the playoffs. The sec and big 10 are going to beat themselves every year..
Conference realignment has been a boom for podcasters and YouTubers everywhere. College football is big on so many levels. And Media holds the real power. Live sports will always be king in TV!
How will the divisions in the conferences be changed? I hope that Wisconsin won’t get moved over to the East once they add USC and UCLA (whom I’m assuming will be added to the west).
This is going to kill a lot of brands. A lot of schools which used to shine like Oregon, Stanford, Washington will be less than an Iowa in the big ten
Someone convince me why any of this is a good thing? Really sick of NIL and these realigning Super Conferences before they begin. Seems more and more like a semi pro league. College sports especially football has been a big part of my life over the years. The more I think of all of this the more I wanna bail. Will this make way for a better playoff system as you are playing a tougher schedule and could lose another game or two?
It's all about money SMH
Hannah storm still getting it done folks……
In 30 years people will be complaining because there changing the upcoming model. Let's go. I want NFL2
I love how the announcers moan about the money but it's their own Network that has made it this way😂
Well Paul isn’t working at Fox anytime soon because he just threw an eclipse amount of shade at them.
Big10 Conference beside Ohio St sucks the rest of the Big10 can play the rest of the weak SEC besides Alabama LSU Florida
Two super conferences would be just as bad as the super league would be for soccer would destroy the sport
Welcome to all USC & UCLA fans and alumni as a Michigan fan this is a proud day for all involved.
Why no one is talking about the impact that this move has on the Rose Bowl!!
It’s because all these students who have defaulted on their student loans and the Biden administration not required for these students to pay there debts like we did in the 1980s. It will be a mess going forward!!
One crash is going to bankrupt this entire deal or flights being grounded from the east back to the west will mess up game schedules too! Hmmm, out of state liability insurance for unforeseen circumstances!
Cost for R&B, food, supplies, medical facilities compared to the flat rates they have established now for decades here in the PACIFIC 12 conference!..it will eventually go bust! Oh yeah, after November midterms the draft bill will be back on the table! We will be in full scale war sooner than you expect🇺🇸😎🤫🏈
How can the libtards in Cali justify all the extra carbon emissions due to the extra travel?!?!
Lol big ten vulnerable because of Texas and Oklahoma ?
They're ruining college football
Show me the money! The PAC-12 & the ACC are dead. And it's time to change some conference names, don't you think? The BIG-10 will soon be the BIG-whatever. The SEC? The Southeastern Conference? Texas, Texas A&M, Missouri are not in the southeast, and neither is Arkansas, for that matter, I'm not saying they shouldn't be in the conference, but the name no loner works.
I don't agree with the travel concerns. L.A. has one of the largest airports in the World. If I take a plane from Iowa to Nebraska, it would probably take longer than
L.A to Nebraska because I save a connecting flight. Still, this is bad for college football.
ESPN sounds salty
Curious how many schools "get in" to one or the other conference. Both currently have 16, easy to see SEC adding four (Clemson, UNC, FSU, Miami) from ACC to get them to 20. Also easy to see Big Ten adding 3 more (ND, Oregon, Washington) plus probably 1 more from the PAC-12 or Big 12 or Virginia Tech.
AFC – NFC all over again!!
