Watch as Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens announced that they will take Slovakian left-winger Juraj Slafkovsky with the No. 1 pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.

    While im reading these comments down below i ascertaining that Slovaks are ghastly English speakers. The majority barely know English well. Incidentally thanks for your acknowledgement to foreigners ! 💪❤.

    Past hab cup winners boasted a blueline with chelios Robinson Gingras and a few others like Ludwig a stellar core that definitely is worthy of being a cup contender.The habs also boasted hard working two way players lots of them like the keans and Skrudlands and Carbonneau's and Kirk Mullers.Other notables perhaps underrated McPhee and the hard working Claude Lemieux or Vinnie Damphousse Bobby Smith Brian Bellows Desjardins Leclair Lebeau and mat Schneider.Yeah those last two cup teams were legit several good solid players and the habs of new just do NOT have the same type of grit not nearly enough hard working tenacious players but instead a SOFT team no legit two way players and sadly let one go to the Kings ..grrrrr.

    So imo the Habs are a VERY long way off building a legit contender and seemingly will struggle with cap space forever and ever they never seem to get that done right.

    I feel this was a missed draft because imo the first two picks are not what i need to build this team.I would have been happier with Cooley or Wright and for my second pick i am taking Brad Lambert.I am very happy with Lane Hutson i like him a lot and a couple other picks are ok as well like last years Farrell.
    Slav and Mesar are not the two guys i want to bank on building towards a cup contender.
    So who would i have actually taken Wright or Cooley?I think Cooley because of Wright's poor showing in the OHL playoffs and i believe his ceiling is only a second line center albeit a good one.
    The future looks like Farrell and Cole on the wings but no center and that makes it nearly impossible for the wings to hit their ceiling.Suzuki is a second line center so he plays with idk the habs have several other decent prospect wingers but none are ever going to be more than second line wingers.
    I believe Josh ROy will also at some point become a good habs player who knows maybe he is legit maybe he could be a first line center we could hope.Other than Lane i do not see the puck movement from the blueliners other than Hutson so again the Habs lack what they need to become a legit threat.

    That boy will have size!!.. congrats to him and the Habs!!..the hockey mom just at that moment realized all the early practices out of town travels worries of bus trips in all conditions.. Mom and dad are some proud parents..
