The Atlanta Hawks take Luka Doncic No. 3 overall in the 2018 NBA draft, but then trade him to the Dallas Mavericks for No. 5 overall pick Trae Young. Watch how it all unfolds.

Brian Windhorst explains how the Atlanta Hawks made the No. 3 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, presumably Luka Doncic, available before the draft.

Adrian Wojnarowski then reports that the Dallas Mavericks agreed to trade up to acquire the No. 3 pick (Doncic) from the Hawks in exchange for the No. 5 pick and a future first-round pick (protected). With that pick, Dallas selected Trae Young to send to Atlanta.

Woj’s report is followed by the live draft selections announced by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, player highlights, player comparisons with Chauncey Billups, player interviews and more.

Why is it that there are a small handful of people who have won the lottery

multiple times, while the rest of us never seem to ever win?

Here is the answer: 4WinLottery. Com

This is crazy! 5 wins of $5000 or more over the last 3 months! 4WinLottery. Com I never thought there would truly be a way to win the lottery consistently, but I was definitely proven wrong by your insanely accurate formula. You have given me the financial freedom I needed to peruse the hobby of my

  25. @nanithefck7547

And luka just dropped 73 vs the hawks

  26. @RyanBooks

73 on the Hawks heads! Luka not going #1 as an 18 year old Euroleague MVP is still one of the weirdest things I've seen in the NBA draft

  27. @iRahz.

And Luka just dropped 73 on the Hawks lol

  28. @wills3210

Crazy how both players have carried their teams to conference finals, only to get blown out by teams who go on to win the finals

  29. @Musicrecords10

Literally everyone said this was the "most balanced trade ever, both teams won" haha, hawks got conned

  30. @Videogamelover58

WORST DECISION THE HAWKS EVER DID

  31. @danielservin2450

I had him before the draft being the best player. I knew he was different but man he’s definitely surprised me how quickly he’s progressed and dominated.

  32. @itsrizzoo7526

“He’s not a Ben Simmons caliber type athlete” 💀💀

  33. @kevinrivera3926

LMAO HES NOT BEN SIMMONS …

  34. @austink6838

    Swap those hats!

  35. @3030hp

This trade was always super lopsided to me. Dallas ripped Atlanta off. Atlanta forever dumb.

  36. @GabrielSilva-sk6wb

    "He's not a Ben Simmons" 🤣🤣

  37. @jannsharo5655

I really don’t think that Luca or Trae would be as explosive as they are/were had they stayed with the teams that drafted them. The trade worked out for everyone.
