The 2003 NBA Draft Lottery was one of the most important in league history, setting the stage for the next 15 years of professional basketball. The ultimate prize: earning the opportunity to draft Akron-based phenom LeBron James. A series of other highly touted prospects—Darko Milicic, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, and Carmelo Anthony—served as worthy consolation prizes.
How the 2003 NBA Draft ultimately shook out:
1. Cleveland Cavaliers – LeBron James
2. Detroit Pistons – Darko Milicic
3. Denver Nuggets – Carmelo Anthony
4. Toronto Raptors – Chris Bosh
5. Miami Heat – Dwyane Wade
6. Los Angeles – Chris Kaman
7. Chicago Bulls – Kirk Hinrich
8. Milwaukee Bucks – T.J. Ford
9. New York Knicks – Mike Sweetney
10. Washington Wizards – Jarvis Hayes
11. Golden State Warriors – Mickael Pietrus
12. Seattle SuperSonics – Nick Collison
13. Memphis Grizzlies – Marcus Banks
Imagine if Darko became the best out this draft
It should be Pistons Melo
Nuggets Bosh
Raptors Darko
Heat Wade
Why!Joe Dumars
Big day in cleveland sports it for sure was
How u mess up on Melo ?
@18:16 Caron Butler's reaction to hearing Detroit gets Memphis's pick. & also looks like Allan Houston, Antawn Jamison, & Juan Dixon behind them are joking about it too. 😂
Gordon Gun looks like Will Ferrel in a movie about the Cavs
As a Piston's fan this video makes m stomach hurt !!! 😱 🤣🤣
Bron would’ve been great in Memphis
This intro is the most 2003 thing I can think of lmao
Stan Kroenke in a "Gotham City Mob Boss" motif…
Who's here because of another sacrifice for Lebron.
Overhyped garbage.
Carmelo be watching Carmelo be watching Carmelo
Pistons are a joke of a franchise, and will forever be cursed for not drafting Carmelo Anthony…
RIP David Stern. You turned the NBA into the clear #2 league out of the Big 4 and ahead of college football, racing, MMA and other competitors from the awful drug fueled controversies of the late 70s and early 80s.
LBJ has been transformative for 2 franchises and his addition to the Lakers helped them win a ring during a time when no one thought it probable.
Gordon Gun is funny we don't know who we are going to pick…..Really??? 😂😂
Is it me or does anyone else feels like that intro was werid
BTW, the Celtics had Denver's 2001, 2002 or 2003 1st round picks (Celtics choice) and they stupidly wanted the 2001 pick. They could have held out and gotten the 2003 pick which would have been Carmelo or Bosh or Wade.
BTW, are we still waiting for Darko Milicic? I remember hating the pick when it happened and I still hate it today. Pistons could have had so much more… had I been them, I would have drafted Bosh.
