For BS: I’d like to know how “forward looking” pro bettors are. For example, during an NFL Sunday, I’m usually thinking about how I’m going to bet next week’s games as the current week unfolds. Sometimes I’ll already know a certain spot that I’ll be on depending on how the games go. It would be interesting to hear a discussion about this.

Excellent show — When betting mlb totals — do you take into consideration who the home plate umpire is? If so where would you find the hitter/pitcher friendly umpire intel to help bet the over/unders?

Teddy, THREE times a year out of 17 games (no longer a 16-game schedule) a team is on the ROAD vs. a division opponent. That's 17.6% of their games. There are plenty of other weeks, 14 of them, for bad teams to lose vs. the rest of the league to arrive at a crappy ATS and/or overall win/loss record for an entire season. It is also common knowledge that divisional teams play each other tougher in the NFL across all the divisions for decades due to coaching and personnel familiarities, bad blood from their twice-a-year matchups, geographic proximity in some cases with the competing fan bases, game tape from TWO games instead of one, and the OBVIOUS desire to beat that divisional foe because winning your division is an automatic playoff bid regardless of your overall record. As you should recall, teams have snuck into the playoffs in the last 30 years with .500 and Sub-.500 records often enough that it has sparked a debate that overall record should trump winning your division when that team is average at best. So reconciling Ralph's two positions from today about generally betting on winning teams and targeting specific DIVISION ROAD DOGS of less than 9.5 should make absolute sense to you. Those teams, (especially when the playoffs are no longer on the table) have already circled those division road matchups in hopes of potentially playing spoiler, winning that game which has turned into the teams "Superbowl" so they can say, "Well, it wasn't our year, but at least we went into Kansas City and beat the Chiefs". Furthermore, some of these division rivalries are all certain fan bases have had for a considerably long time. The NFC East comes to mind where the Giants and Commanders have had to dim expectations amidst poor play and coaching carousels at least hoping to look back on the season and remember they beat each other on the road or upset the Cowboys or Eagles. Who wouldn't want to see the stupid looks on Mike McCarthy's and Jerry Jones' faces when they lose games they were "supposed to win". Good teams can also be road dogs vs. the other top team in their division. Matchups with the Ravens and Bengals come to mind and until Ben retired, throw the Steelers in with the Ravens as well. Adding that "9.5 points or less" component to Ralph's search also wipes out the extreme bottom feeders that are clearly overmatched no matter how big the rivalry. (several Packers/Bears games would fit this bill as Aaron "owned" Soldier Field. I know there is not much time as the show is happening live to think through what Ralph said thoroughly before pulling out the pin on your daily (attempted) hand grenade you like to direct towards fellow cappers, but this one is clearly not difficult to wrap your head around. Digest it, sleep on it, and I am certain by tomorrow's show you will see how it makes perfect sense. Thank you Ralph AGAIN, for supplying the best charts in the industry. The frequency with which you uncover such astounding intel is legendary. And always appreciated.
