In this video we will rank the European Union (EU) as if it were a country on the Economics Explained National Leaderboard, after exploring the economic challenges and opportunities facing all current member states. The EU collectively represents the third largest economy in the world, after China and the USA, with a population of 447 million people and 20 member countries that use the Euro, the second most widely held reserve currency after the USD. The five biggest countries in the EU by population are Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Poland, and the region has a significant impact on the global economy. However, the EU faces several significant economic challenges, including the debt crisis, Brexit, and tensions with major energy suppliers. We will also examine the potential impact of a non-unified Europe on the global economy and the likelihood of other nations following the UK’s example and leaving the union. By exploring these issues, viewers can gain insights into the workings of economic unions and the potential future of the EU.

The UK isn't part of the EU, fake news and a liar is all I heard here.

  2. ARKAN ITA

Russian troll feed a sweet fake news

  3. Michael H

The original statement completed each other. New members are not at the same level. New Eastern countries should have formed there own system

  4. Richard Lehnis

You mention issues with freedom of movement (I.e brain drain), but leave out factors implemented to counteract that (I.e freedom of capital flows) and the vast transfer of wealth via development funds. The poorest countries have seen a massive improvement in life quality in the last 10 years. Many are now moving back to their home countries, bringing back their skills and capital. A good example is Poles returning home from the UK.

  5. Hiroko Morioka

I see it's natural EU will collapse. The disparity and incomparable economic strength of the member countries is serious and disfunctional. Ex-Comnunist nations benefit with the infrastructure development, while the economically weaker countries such as Spain and Portugal are getting poorer. Italy is also in the trouble. Ideology without practicality. Back to basics.

Great Brittan its not part of the EU and all Bruxelle EU work as the Soviet Union!! Its a corruot sistem… hope one day will be end of the EU

  7. The Power Moves

You forget the EU was also a union for power. And that isn't going away any time soon

  9. astonTH

How did you fail this video in the first 10 seconds. Why is the UK shown to be in the EU?

Wouldn’t buy anything else you say if you can’t even get the basics right.

  10. Jessica Sam

The truth is that everybody wants to be financially independent and live a better life.
With savvy investing, an inexpensive lifestyle, and diligent budgeting, this is not difficult to do. I'm glad I realized early on that achieving financial freedom requires hard work.

  11. Jakob Jorgensen

You play down the world export master in this vid. Just saying.

  12. Y GR

Thank you for using the correct full map of Morocco

  13. Diogo Jorge

    It won't. EU survived worse.

  14. A M

Bollocks…. It’s a communist organisation with no way to remove the leaders….!! Needs to fail…!!!

  15. Karunama

Couple things. First; 'The EU got the balance just right' is honestly pretty debatable. Certainly, if you're planning to retain ethnic cultural differences, letting each nation retain sovereignty will do the trick. On the other hand, you make it inevitable that you'll get a Hungary or three who exist only to be the fly in the ointment, nevermind any random Brexit style events.

Second, the fall of the EU is surprisingly likely. Right now it is heavily dependent on Germany to support much of its policies economically, but despite any claims to the contrary, Germany won't be able to support its own economy going forward. The fall of the Baby Boomer cadre to retirement is simply too large a hit to the pension system, and the absolute lack of a replacement generation or migrant population to take their place means that the German industrial sector in its current form was always doomed to end this decade. Never mind the whole Ukraine crisis and the way that Germany's industrial model had tied itself hand and foot to Russian natural gas.

  16. waffensachverstand com

The analysis has a lot of shortfalls. Just to name some aspects: cost of poverty migration, political pressure of the USA on decision making or bureaucracy on EU level.

  17. Viking Simon

The map at the beginning is wrong, the UK is not in the EU anymore, and hasn't been since 2016.

  18. Vidalion

I think the EU was by far the best move for each country…..even if some were doing fine on their own or better than neighboring countries….you never know what the US, China, india, Russia or Canada (you never know) will be like in 60-100 years, and better to be one large union and not a bunch of small, separate countries.

  19. Save the Republic

    EU is trash.
