Name brand doesn't mean anything???? If Texas had the same record and resumé as USC they would be ranked #4 already. Of course, name brand is a factor, why else would the AP rank USC #14 before the season after going 4-8 in 2021. Both LSU and USC hired new coaches after 2021. Both brought in transfer quarterbacks to be the starter. LSU actually made a bowl game last year and hired the more proven coach of the 2, yet USC started #14 in the country and LSU was unranked. Name brand.
