ROC Boys get into a big west coast matchup as the BYU Cougars come off a massive win and head on the road to Eugene to play the Oregon Ducks. The boys talk about how to evaluate Oregon after their loss to UGA, and what to think about the BYU program that is coming off a win against the Big 12 champs.

I love looking back on these takes 😂😂 everybody was judging Oregon off that UGA game, now look where it got you
BYU has maturity, continuity, anticipation, and intuition in the amount of returning starters on both sides of the ball. That is a lot of experience that weighs heavily on an opponent. With that said, the Ducks are always fast, always talented, and that counts. College football games are very hard to win and that is why you need to give the home team the field advantage. Nonetheless, BYU returns 90% of its players. That translates to a ton of veterans that have played in huge venues, like The Coliseum against USC, UCLA, Death Valley in Tennesse, Camp Randle Wisconsin, and Austin Texas just to name a few away victories for the Cougars.
Here is an interesting side note, on sheer speed and talent Baylor has a receiver that is faster and more athletic than either BYU or Oregon's roster of athletes (#11 on the Baylor team) which had no effect on the outcome of that game late Saturday.
I am a BYU Hawaiian fan that loves how Kalani blends the poly-boys and the team together as brothers. Kalani is MERIT based, he plays the next man up and asks for that player's commitment to contribute his 1-11th on the field. Merit-based success builds love and trust in one another. Go Cougs!!!
I will be attending the game & i can’t tell ya how happy i am that I don’t care who wins. Just love college football. & it won’t be like that iowa-iowa st baseball score snoozer of a game. This game should be electric.
BYU 35 UO 14.
If it's close,
BYU wins. BYU will have more will to win.
Georgia is the real deal.
I am a byu fan so I am a little more versed on the team. BYU has everyone back .on defence the and 8 returning in offence. You are right oregon had more talent but they are learning a new system under a new coach. A lot byu players been in the same system 2 to 6 years and that's not counting the maturity and leadership a mission brings. Unless Oregon makes some big plays or turnovers byu should win. Byu has enough talent not to get overrun.
Your knowledge of BYU is good and analysis sound, but you are underestimating their secondary. BYU will get at least two picks and their front seven will be fast enough to the ball to neutralize the Ducks' short game. On the offense side, BYU will run against them and throw for 300 yds. BYU 35, Oregon 17
I keep hearing people say Baylor had no offense. They ran up the score on an FCS team exactly like Oregon did.
If you throw out Oregon's game against Georgia, then throw out Baylor's game against BYU. Then Baylor and Oregon look pretty equivalent.
BYU has excellent corners and can stay with Oregon. Their safeties, especially Strong Safety they might have an advantage because I think that is our pass defensive weakness but BYU’s corners are good and athletic so I think the speed thing is over inflated but we will see.
LFG Cougies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
going along with when y’all said byu wont pressure bo nix even thought thats when he’s the worst is when he is under pressure, i dont see that being a problem because i trust the coaches enough to know im sure they will talk about that in practice and make sure when they come to oregon they are really to be an in your face defense for this game
BYU will show up. They will play well. That I know. Oregon has been in a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde mode for over a year. Until we see Lanning and company over time, its a fools game to predict Oregon. They have enough talent to be elite. Yet, they are not consistent and too often fail to show up. When they do show up… look out.
I don’t know if Oregons defense will be able to stop BYUs offense. Baylors dline is one of the best in the nation and they struggled w the pass rush. Hall will pick apart that defense and I think BYU averages 4 or 5 yards a carry.
If Oregon can somehow get the ball in the hands of their speedsters… thats how you beat BYU. I think Oregon will have enough of their act together to take down the Cougs. I'm still not convinced that Baylor was all that good of a team. I swear their offense is not good… so all BYU had to do is stack the box and stuff the run. I think if Nix starts jelling with one of this speedy wideouts… BYU wont be able to stop it.
Pundits who just don't know BYU and are more in love with Oregon's rep than seeing how good BYU is. That's why BYU are dogs going into Eugene and why people who don't know this BYU team of the last few years are picking them to lose. They just are picking Oregon because of Oregon's rep not because of anything else.
Dude on the bottom looks like Private Pyle from Full Metal Jacket.
Watched an Oregon podcast this morning, and it seems they have some health concerns on the O line and at linebacker. They were also not over the moon with the skill position players. The podcast had some real concerns about this week.
People overlook Oregon was breaking in a new coaching staff, new offense, new defense and played the game in Georgia. Georgia stayed away from the strength of the O defense (front 7) and ducks missed 26 tackles . Oregon moved the ball on Georgia and outrushed Georgia on the ground. Oregon still has a good team.
#12 bYu …was #12 vs Birmingham Dental Academy in 2021 Shreveport Bowl. Interesting. Oregon is NOT, Birmingham Dental !!
