BOLDEST College Football Predictions: Part 8 (Late Kick Cut)

College Football’s 2022 season is still a few months away, but with spring practice wrapped up Josh Pate put the call out on Late Kick Live Ep 261 for some of the boldest predictions Pate State has to offer. What are the odds UGA’s Kenny McIntosh can make a Heisman run? Is Kirby Smart’s system built to statistically feature one offensive player than prominently? What about JJ McCarthy doing the same while leading Michigan to another College Football Playoff appearance? LSU beating Alabama in Tiger Stadium would be something if Brian Kelly could pull it off that hasn’t been done in over a decade. In a season following three teams winning at least 10 games in the Big12, could we see a jumbled mess of teams so much so that none of them make it to 10 wins in 2022? All that plus a long shot on Iowa State and an absolutely impossible shot on Rutgers. Immediately after I finished my Post-Spring Top 25 Video, I decided to make a similar video regarding Big Ten Predictions. Now that I have much more knowledge about each team’s depth chart and coaching staff and that most of these things are set in stone until the post-season, I am much more confident in my Big Ten predictions. Much like the 2021 season, I think 2022 will carry some surprises along with it. Ohio State will win the conference but I think Nebraska will come out of nowhere and outright win the West.

Bold Prediction: Ohio State will have 2 people in the top 5 Heisman, Stroud and JSN. Maybe even 3 with Henderson.

  5. Jarret

LSU legitimately had a couple chances late in the 4th qtr to go ahead of Alabama at Bryant Denny last year . Got beat by 6 pts..LSU’s worse team in 20 yrs against championship contender at their house ..and you say bold 8 vs a structured at home LSU lmmfao

  6. Erin Stanger

Even at home Alabama struggled against Arkansas.

  7. Chris

OU will be undefeated in the big 12

Did dude dead ass put a uga rb in his Heisman…? That's not bold that's just stupid. They could 1.5x their entire rb room production and still wouldn't have even been in NY…

  11. RxseJayツ

    my take

BJ Ojulari will have a better season than Will Anderson

Utah AND Nebraska makes it into the play-off

  19. CoachGriff17

The 2011 sugar bowl was mich vs va tech, the bcs game was a separate event played at the sugar bowl, unlike the 2005 rose bowl with sc and ut

Update, I tested the audio on my phone and it works. I think the previous video was just bugged. Let me know if there are any problems.

This is garbage from an obvious Michigan fan. Typical shit from a wolverine.

  22. Rich Walsh

Okay. I'll run my mouth here. OSU not a good defensive football team last year. Michigan ran for 297, scored 42. Utah ran for 226, scored 45. Oregon ran for 269, scored 35. Minnesota scored 31 and was in the game until their best rb got hurt. So unless the Buckeyes improve on d, they could be susceptible to a big, strong ball control team that keeps the pigskin away from their admittedly high octane offense. Day a particularly good offensive coach, especially with the passing game. Defensiely not so much.

Nebraska 10-2? Sorry man I just don’t see that. Not even close. I would like to see it. But at some point you have to see that all those losses, all those close losses, falls on the coaching staff. Has Frost shown he’s improved the last 1-5 years? I like Nebraska a lot. I root for them every game they don’t play the Buckeyes. Hell I even loved when they hired Frost. But there is no way they are going 10-2. Wisconsin or Minny is taking the West

  24. Sean L

Huge Nebraska fan and I hope this prediction is accurate hahah only thing I’m not sure about is giving our Oline a B+ rating. In my opinion they just don’t deserve that high of a grade preseason considering the starting line will be very similar to last year but we lose our hands down best oline man in Jurgens

  25. ironman80us

I sure hope you're right about Nebraska. I'm not sure how much I can take.

  26. wolverine29

thoughts on pac 12 getting rid of divisions? Big ten going to follow ? I want the 1v2 team playing for the championship not 1v3 or in some cases 1v 4.. I think Michigan finishes 11-1 as well I think " the game " is similar to 2016 , OSU pulls it off. GO blue

  27. Stephen Lang

Nebraska at 10-2, are you high? Nebraska has always had the most talent in the west. But Frosty the Chokeman is THE WORST coach in the B1G and that isn't even close.

  28. Jim Benson

Wasaaaay overrated Michigan. Homer. All As? Lol. I do agree that the schedule is embarrassingly easy. The staff, DL, Dbs are not As…sorry.

  29. KENNY DYE

THE OHIO STATE fan here. I think we might drop one because we always assume there's a fifth quarter, gotta get it done in 4. Playing at Penn State at night with I'm sure a white out sucks!

  30. Spencer james

Love it Sam! Go Big Red!

  31. Jac Lemo

    Ohio St. Next Alabama 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆

  32. AndrewW

I have 9-3 Minnesota losing to 12-0 Michigan 42-17 in indy. My big disagreement here is Nebraska. I have them also losing to Oklahoma, @Purdue, Minnesota and Wisconsin in addition to Michigan and Iowa to go 6-6. I know they have a decent roster, but as long as Frost is there they're always going to be out coached every week.

  33. AndrewW

CBS came out with their annual coach rankings vote thing, lots of big ten representation on the list. Would you consider making a video reacting to it or doing your own list?

  34. Jackson Reddick

Tough assessing Nebraska, as Frost can’t overcome mistakes to win games. I know that Martinez not being at QB changes some things, but sometimes it is tough to avoid the slip up.

  35. Orlando/NotoriousOrlie Reza

    Iowa ain’t beating Nebraska

  36. Jessie Tovar

I have a prediction…you win your conference, then choke in the bowl games 🤣🤣🤣

  37. Hayden Caliber

    A truly original take sir.

  38. Michael Gerard

Iowa is not losing to Minnesota or Rutgers

  39. Cameron W

I think you're spot on with Michigan. OSU is largely going to depend on Knowles system and how well its implemented early on. The only caveat I see for them being undefeated is against Wisc and Michigan, because his 4-2-5 is more apt to stopping a spread/aerial style offense as opposed to a power (UW) or power spread hybrid (UM) run heavy offense. Especially with Weiss and Moore now OC in A2, if they hand the reins to JJ and open up a more RPO style of offense that directly counters Knowles concept.

Ironically his defense is remarkably similar to the one D. Brown employed at Michigan. Relying on corners to be on an island, heavy pressure and misdirection, heavy blitz packages. The counter is short-int cross/slants and counter/zone running plays. We'll see how it shakes out, I expect OSU to win but I'm not sold on it being a foregone conclusion yet.
