Which conference partnership would you prefer to see? Pac-12 + ACC or Pac-12 + Big 12?

  2. Robbie Frantz

Here is one thing that is sure to happen with the enlargement of the major conferences. Programs that have been at or near the top in their previous league, like USC football, will find themselves with 1 or 2 more regular season losses. I graduated Penn State in 1967, long before they joined the Big 10. Has joining the Big 10 been good for the national stature of Penn State? I do not think so. Every year the season starts with great hopes, but eventually Penn State finds themselves saddled with 2 or 3 conference losses and maybe one more overall. Oh, there are years where Penn State does better, but in my opinion, not often enough. This likely will happen to USC. UCLA could struggle to be .500 in the Big 10 and maybe much worse, as it wasn't exactly tearing up the PAC-12. Think of what the former Big 12 powerhouse Nebraska has accomplished record-wise since joining the Big 10. They are have become synonymous with losing, maybe losing close games, but losing. League expansion is just creates more mediocrities, because no matter how good the matchup is for TV and how much revenue it generates, only one team will leave the field as the winner. Big conference expansion is just a leveling project for all but the very best and the number of these very best, for the most part, will remain constant.

As a K-Stater the Big 12 out of respect to Oregon & Washington ought to give them a home with no GOR, but they would be required to give a 2 year notice with no penalty. If they want to stay longer then renegoitate. All other invited PAC 12 schools would need to be under a GOR's.

Florida state is looking to go to the sec

Declare all conferences null and void. Find the center of the Country, draw vertical and horizontal lines, 4 Conferences, Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, and Northwest. 24 Teams per Conference, winners .eet other Conferences in Playoffs, College Superbowl travels to different region each year.
No Recruiting outside of your Region.

    Hahaha, don’t count on it.

  7. Ruslan Mathers

I, honestly, hate the coast-to-coast conference idea. Why nobody wants to ally Big-12? ;(

  8. SL

The sec and b10 take whomever they want from the ACC and P12. How do you create an alliance or a tv deal when you don’t know if your biggest names will even stay?

  9. Kevin Bergin

Recall when the PAC-12 was very close to inviting Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and OSU to join the conference but balked concerning UT's television deal? It was the right move since even USC shared money equally. However, they probably wish they had a time machine now.

  10. Natan Levi

Feels like they should all move to sec and big ten have north south east west within each conference like in the nfl between the 2 conferences might aswell and either hold a playoff or have the 2 champions of each conferences battle each other in the championship just both could work

What I can see happening is the SEC offers half the schools in the ACC and B1G offers the other half eliminating the GOR agreement then merging the SEC and B1G together into a super league of 64 schools with additional schools added from PAC 12 and BIG 12 that are most desirable. All 64 schools would break away from NCAA to create an NFL style league that would negotiate a package where every school receives equal shares. The would create 8 divisions with 8 schools in each division and a 12 game season with each of 8 divisions earning automatic spot in a 16 team playoff format and the next best 8 schools according to polls, power ranks, and other metrics determining entry to playoffs. After 16 qualify the teams are ranked 1 – 16 with 1 playing 16 in first round 2- 15 3-14 and so on with top 8 getting first round home field game. After first round winners are reranked with predetermined negotiated sites getting the 4 games. Winners go to semifinals at predetermined sites for final 4 and after that a championship game. No conference title games necessary with each school playing 7 division, 1 permanent crossover rival, and 4 crossover games drawn in a lottery style selection show with schools a predetermined order draft. The crossover schools on each teams schedule would play 2 year home and home series and every 2 years another lottery drawing to pick 4 new crossover games. The division would all be schools close regionally which would make it more economical for other sports where they can create their own schedules and divisions. An example of like Texas schedule could be.

  12. Larry O'Brien

BIG10 can't WIN championships so just wants to BUY MORE and eliminate the competition.

  13. Chief Ryback

I doubt any of these Conferences expand for a while. These teams do not want to Revenue Share with 20 other teams. The only reason whyTexas / Oklahoma & USC / UCLA jumped ship was because it was profitable for the SEC & Big Ten. The only other profitable brand left put there that can move the needle on TV negotiations is Notre Dame and they aren't joining.

  14. The Optimist

Big 12 will be the third power conference. They have no interest in the ACC.

  15. The Optimist

The Best PAC 12 go to the Big 12. The worst go to the Mountain West. Done Deal!!!

  16. dizzybynature

UC, WVU, UCF, & Memphis should go to the ACC..
The Big12 should take the best of the Pac and everyone has 16 teams..

  17. rlhaff3

If the Big10 grabbed FSU and Miami, they would have the California & Florida markets…for TV they would truly be a National Conference…the SEC is NOT a “National” Conference…

  18. Talon

The B12 has very little value at this point. The P12 still has Oregon and Washington but If they defect, the P12 is just as bad.

Both the B12 and P12 are full of programs that have no business in a power program (TCU and Colorado). They have small fan bases, limited facilities and small markets, especially TCU.

Both the B12 and P12 should just do everyone a favor and implode so we can get the inevitable over with.

Teams like TCU, Colorado and Arizona should be kicked down to FCS.

  19. Lance Jewkes

All I want is the Big 12 to stay viable. BYU finally caught a break getting a P5 invite and I don’t want that to be meaningless so quickly

  20. DAYWALKER

If the ACC adds teams then the current GOR would be obsolete because they would need a new GOR & that would give teams such as FSU, Miami, & Clemson the opening they need to leave the ACC.
