    Bravo à Mertens qui a fait un super tournoi ….mais très triste pour Alizé car le score est sévère et toujours pas de tournoi gagné cette année…

    Might have been nice to see Alize win a tourney but Elise is a doll as well, and such a fine player, so very happy for her! Classy ladies. No one is a loser at this match.

    Bad matchup on paper for Cornet tbh, not surprised with the result she doesn’t have much to hurt Mertens, since Alize is an aggressive counterpuncher and doesn’t create too much pace on her own, and is matched by Mertens steadiness and tenacity. (Though Cornet is better than her in high-drama tennis and when she’s in a giant-killer position.)

    I'm as pleased with this F result as I was with Siniakova's a few weeks back. Well executed in dismantling Cornet in such a one-sided affair.
