Welcome to a new episode of #supercalifunnelistic.

In today’s video, I’m going to answer the following questions:

1⃣ Is Poker Gambling Or A Game Of Skill
2⃣ Which Countries Consider Poker A Game Of Skill
3⃣ What’s The Difference Between Recreational And (Semi)Professional Poker Players

Personally, I started playing poker over 10 years ago, and while I hate to admit it, initially I lost money most of the time.
However, after I started learning poker theory by reading books, watching poker training videos, and analyzing my own plays I started to win at poker quite consistently until I eventually achieved an hourly rate of roughly playing (live) poker.
At that point, I stopped my work as a freelance developer and played poker for a living for roughly one year, before I went back to build my own business.

Nowadays, I play poker online at GGPoker πŸ‘‰ https://bit.ly/2YXzcWs from time to time while live-streaming on Twitch at πŸ‘‰ https://www.twitch.tv/christianrauchenwald

I feel like this is an "over" simplitationcation of the question that is "Is Poker Gambling Or A Game Of Skill?"

You can consume all the books/blogs/youtube vids you want. If you don't know how to play (positioning is super important) the basics in live game situations, it's all for not. The amount of time it takes to read, study, and play live is mind boggling…you need to remember so much more info on the fly. NOT only how to play, but also "how/why are my opponents playing that way"?

Dose it skill? Yes. Is it luck, yes…BUT

That word "BUT" covers a whole lotta info/suggestions that you need to determin on your own. It's up to you to make a good decison given the info ypu're presented with during a live session at the table. (when you make a right call, plp call it luck )

It's both skill and luck. It's being in a good posistion, with a favorable outcome. (Skill and luck)

To be a better player, it takes time….a lot of time ( AND A WHOLE LOT OF FOLDING). A whole lot of time and a bankroll large enough to be able to handle big "swings" whether positive or negative.

Tonight, I lost $600 in the first 3 hours playing (bought in twice at $300). It took 3 more hours to cash out a 585. I played 6 hour of poker to lose $15 dollars. (Not to mention the 3 waters I got that were $1 each. I had to tip the waitress $1 each a water to make sure she came back to me)……So more like $21 dollar loss.

It takes time and some expensive lessons to learn from your mistakes in this game. Only way to get better is to play people who are better than you and learn/be at their lvl and learn how to surpass them. It just takes time and experience. Try to lessen the losses more than the big wins. That only comes with time and repetition of different situations.

Yep, make everything seem black or white to prove some weak point. If poker is a game of skill why not playing profesionally? U can play during normal hours, u can pay your taxes just like everyone else does. Play no limit holdem and win constantly, it is that easy:) Delusions, delusions and ego!
