Its amazing someone wouldn't realize this…Imagine the year Lebron was coming out, or hell even this year with Wiggins, if there wasn't a lottery all the teams would try and lose on purpose.
How is it dumb? The reason it is in place is so teams don't tank purposely to land the #1 pick. The NBA's draft isn't as deep as the NFLs, there are usually only 1-3 franchise changing players. Imagine the year Lebron James was drafted and there wasn't a lottery in place, all those GM's would of traded away all of their players to get as bad as possible to win 0 games…The NFL has a deep draft doesn't need to do it.

You obviously don't know how the lottery works, there is 1000 different combinations of 1 through 14 they use, the team with the worst record gets 25% of those combinations, etc down the list…So 4 balls are drawn, and if you hold one of those order of 4 selected you get it, It is repeated 3 times for the 1st,2nd, and3rd pick…The Hornet's 4 digit code was selected on the first drawing. If your code isn't picked you draft based on your record, which is why the teams were listed there already
