Even though millions of people watch NASCAR live and on TV, in the world of sports betting it’s tiny compared to giants like the NFL and the NBA.

The good news is that there are still tons of great ways to bet on NASCAR and the fact that it’s overlooked by most average sports bettors can actually work to your advantage.

In this video we’ll explain the most popular ways to wager on NASCAR and we’ll look at why betting on NASCAR can provide more value than marquee sports like football and basketball.

Finally, we’ll point you in the direction of our comprehensive NASCAR Betting Guide available for free on WSN.com.

Let’s get started.

NASCAR BETTING ODDS

If you’re a beginner sports bettor, the first thing to learn is odds.
Odds tell you how much you’ll win depending on how much you bet.

In the United States, NASCAR odds are usually shown in American odds which is a three-digit number with a plus or minus symbol in front of it.

The minus sign means the bet is a favorite and pays out LESS profit than the original wager.

The plus sign means the bet is an underdog and pays out MORE profit than the original wager.

Let’s look at some examples so it’s really clear.
When you see negative odds, that’s how much you have to bet to win 0 in profit.

So if a bet has odds of -110, for example, a 0 wager would pay out 0 total, 0 in profit plus your original 0 bet.

A positive odds number tells you how much profit you’ll win for every 0 you bet.

So a 0 bet with odds of +200, for example, would pay out 0 total, that’s 0 in profit plus your original 0 bet.

Now that you know how odds work, the bets we’ll explain in the next sections will be a lot easier to understand.

DRIVES TO WIN AND PLACE

The simplest way to bet on NASCAR is to bet on a driver to win the race.

Since there are up to 43 drivers in each race, the odds are long even for the best drivers. That means you can get a big payout if you choose right.

You’ll see driver’s listed with odds next to their names.

Odds will all be positive numbers and might start at +400 which means you win 0 for every 0 you bet.

You can also bet on drivers to place which means scoring a top three finish. Since it’s easier to do, odds on drivers placing are usually in the +200 neighborhood.

HEAD TO HEAD MATCHES

In addition to betting on who wins or finishes top three, you can also bet on one driver to compete directly against another.

These bets are listed in the same was as moneyline bets in other sports, using the American odds style we explained earlier.

Each driver gets his own odds and you bet on them to finish in a higher position than his opponent. It doesn’t matter where they finish in the overall race, just who finishes higher than the other.

NASCAR BETTING STRATEGIES

Just like all sportsbetting, becoming a long-term winner betting NASCAR takes hard work and research.

The good news is that if you’re gambling on NASCAR it’s going to be a lot easier to beat the bookies.

Sportsbooks focus their energy where most of their action is and since NASCAR doesn’t come close to other major sports, the oddsmakers are way more likely to post loose lines or overlook important details.

That’s where you can get an edge.

Do your research on the driver and their results at the specific track you’re betting on. Driver results vary wildly based on location and it’s worth digging in to.

Also make sure to pay attention to the qualifying round that decides which teams race and their starting positions.

Sportsbooks release new lines after the qualifying race and it pays to be aware of what’s going into the odds.

Finally, make sure to look into the drivers’ recent results. Racing can be streaky and drivers who are in the groove are way more likely to perform than drivers who are in a slump.

Excellent video content! Sorry for butting in, I would love your thoughts. Have you researched – Eeyndraw Unthinkable Equalizer (probably on Google)? It is an awesome one off guide for discovering how to use this winning soccer betting system without the hard work. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my good mate called Gray finally got great success with it.
