NFL Draft 2023 odds swinging for No. 1 overall pick | Pro Football Talk | NFL on NBC

Seahawks Draft News: 2023 NFL Draft, 2nd Round, 52nd Pick overall – the Seattle Seahawks and Pete Carroll and John Schneider have selected Zach Charbonnet, running back from UCLA football.

NFL Draft scouting report (via analysts at The Athletic, Chat Sports, PFF and The Ringer):
Zach Charbonnet is a two-year starter at UCLA and was an ideal fit for head coach Chip Kelly’s diverse run offense. He consistently picks up positive yardage with his ability to absorb contact and has above-average vision and run tempo. He has outstanding contact balance and is not an easy ball carrier to get on the ground. Charbonnet is an average burst runner and can be tracked down from behind, but he won’t hit many home runs. He posted back-to-back 1,000-yard rushing seasons in his two seasons with the Bruins, leading the Pac-12 in rushing yards per game (135.9) and per carry (7.0) in 2022.

The Seattle Seahawks and John Schneider already signed Bobby Wagner, Dre’Mont Jones, and Julian Love during 2023 NFL Free Agency! Now the Seahawks add another player during the 2023 NFL Draft. Seahawks Today and Chat Sports host Tyler Jones reacts to the Seahawks draft pick, and grades the pick!

About Zach Charbonnet, The Athletic’s Dane Brugler says:
‘Charbonnet is not a dynamic start-stop athlete to quickly change rush lanes or escape trouble, but he has extraordinary vision with reliable pass-catching and blocking skills and impeccable football character. He projects as a low-end NFL starter.’

his size

  1. Cam Davis

Hyping Bryce Young is so absurd. He's too small. He holds the ball too long. Recipe for disaster.

  2. Boll Weevil

Sanctioned gambling is destroying pro sports. The draft is a joke, and screws players. Why aren’t they signed as free agents out of college? We know who benefits the most from that.

  3. A Heroic Taxi Driver

Anyone with the #1 or #2 should trade it.

They talk about media leading betters, the ENTIRE espn crew keeps saying Bryce Young is a lock. I do not believe he is a lock at all… CJ and AR have a realistic chance at being #1 as well. I may be in the minority but i think Carolina may roll the dice on AR and sit him next season. The new coaching regime is very specialized in the QB position. AR has little experience and has never had consistency in an organization. The optimistic side of being that raw is, he has plenty of talents to mold into their guy, in their system, no bad habits ingrained too deep. To the original point, it is most likely that Young goes #1, but it isnt a lock.

  6. Jason Tudor

Wait, what responsibility does Carolina have to tell everyone what they're doing? Odd take.

  7. Bofa

Think people should remember the odds are swung by betters and has nothing to do with facts.

Money Manziel going #1. Lock it in folks

  14. Brindle Coat Sports

Stroud and Young will both be bust.Levis and Richardson are projects which makes them being picked anywhere in top ten as Reaches. If you have a team that can develop QB’s ,time and patience, then take a chance.

Its all smoke and Mirrors.. its what is expected so you can CON teams to give up what everyone knew all along who the best QB's were in this draft.. and CJ Stroud is the best QB in this draft BAR NONE!! Unfortunately the team I have cheered for the last 15 years will probably pass on him because they are still just as dysfunctional as ever.. and if the pass on Stroud, then I have no doubt they will also pass on his buddy at #12 as well JSN.. Huge mistake.. and one this time I will not forgive..

  18. craig pridemore

Lions fan here. If the Panthers DO go Wil Levis, it would rate right there with WCF + Matt Millen = 'Oh no! You did WHAT?!"

  19. jack craig

Your so adamant. LOL! Pardon me if I'm adamant about the fact that you don't know who will go #1.

  20. L1887

In a RB class deep, to take a RB in the 2nd round is kinda bad considering you're only looking for a backup to Walker.
Used 37 on DE /OLB which is one of the deeper position groups on the roster and then HB.
    Bad day 2

  21. BRUDAS Dm

Seems like a good pick. John Schneider has my total respect in personnel moves. Pete has my total respect as a head coach and field general. I just hope everyone is humming the same tune.
    🤘😎🏈

  22. Connor Clark

I feel “ok” about this pick, and that’s it. The 2nd round is supposed to be a position of need, not a position of gap filling (positions that should be addressed, just not this early). When we look at team needs we see massive ones (Interior Oline, and Run Stuffing/Pass Rushing). We could’ve used this pick on that and used a later pick on an RB. But Charbonnet is a stud and will be a great addition to add for a 1-2 punch alongside K9.

  23. Steve Norcott

I think Charbonnet would be great in our back field, I've watched him in two games and he was great in both games. You could tell.he would study the.defense they gave him and he would pick his gap pretty consistently! Grade B+

  24. Ronald Heesch

OK pick, would have rather had an iol at this pick

  25. Coach Dreadhead

Poor mans Marshawn Lynch 🤔 He sure run like em abit

  26. Spencer Godfrey

U to listen to this guy but now he’s just insufferable. He has a very surface level understanding of football and yet he speaks with such conviction. Arrogant guy.

  27. It's Me Dio

Good hands and pass protection are what I'm excited for. Especially after losing Homer. Exactly the 3rd down back we were looking for.

  28. JD H

Man Seahawks offence gunna be like top 5 this year no cap

  29. Bobby Hodges

    B I give it a B!

  30. mmcrage

either Chancer Zavala or Jake Haener or if possible both

  31. Brent Charles

Yes, trade was shit we lost out on Saiki Ika

  32. Slightly Toasted

Bummed they traded 3rd pk. Could have picked D. HENLEY / T. SIMPSON. Hope tomorrow they take S TREY DEAN
