I really liked TJ Warren out of this class, and wanted the Celtics to trade up a few spots to get him. He's always been a high character, high motor guy with an incredibly varies scoring arsenal. He was low-risk/super high-floor: a consistent 10 ppg guy of the bench at worst

You're definitely right about Saric being miscast as an off-ball spacer. He was a point-forward in Europe, and extremely successful in that role a teenager playing professionally. His passing and floor vision is excellent. I really thought he could become a star, and it's a shame he didn't

  7. Chris Moser

Harris was clearly a great prospect. I'm still surprised he didn't go much higher. There was a lot of debate between him and Marcus Smart at the time. I preferred Smart, but Harris had a decently high ceiling and an incredibly high floor. There was very little doubt that he would have a solid career

I also remember some people thinking Exum might end up being the best player in this draft, but I wasn't convinced. He had good PR videos, but he only completed at the international level as a Jr, and he hadn't competed at all for a year prior to the draft

I remember reading an anonymous scout saying "Wiggins has no FUCK YOU to his game. In spite of all his gifts, he'll never be Kobe-type". So on point. I always thought Embiid was the best prospect in the draft (I barely even know the name Jokic). I'm a Celtics fan and really, really wanted Marcus Smart, who had some of the most insane college defensive stats of all-time. His steal rate was so ridiculous that it was mathematically a statistical outlier, though there was every reason to believe it wasn't a fluke- and course it wasn't (first guard to win DPOY since Payton. Smart's attitude and toughness also seemed like exactly what the Celtics needed as the bedrock of the rebuild and new culture. And that of course turned out to be true ☘️

Dante Exum was a great prospect who kept getting injured. He did ball out with the Australian national team a few times including winning Bronze at Tokyo Olympcis. He's tearing up EuroLeague now and would be a great signing for any NBA team.
