In the larger stadiums you'll see upwards of 90,000 to over 110,000 fans in a packed stadium. It's so fun
There are 8 college stadiums with at least 100k capacity, Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Louisiana State, Tennessee, Alabama and Texas. College football tends to have larger crowds in the south.
5 of the top 10 biggest stadiums in the world are college football stadiums!
Someone needs to explain to you regional traditions based on the history of that State. For example one of crowds you showed the people were doing an American Indian "tomahawk chop" which is usually because their team was called "Indians" or "Chiefs" or "Braves" (as in Indian Braves). Some of this has changed but not too much.
SEC Football is King.
I think there are 10 or more college football stadiums with a capacity over 100,000. Yes, they routinely sell out.
"They're all amateurs." Well, not so much any more……
Hookβm Horns !( Texas ) . Lol great reaction .
This is EVERY Saturday during the college football season!! We take our teams very seriously in America and every college has a band that usually performs at halftime!
These are regular games.
U dorky bastards. I love it.
Check out the size of college stadiums. You'll be surprised.
These are called Homecoming games.
you have never been to a sporting event till you have been to an Alabama Auburn game…nothing like it in the world.
I went to Virginia Tech. You saw one of the teams. The stadiums are regularly filled for both football and basketball. A game would have over 100k fans. There would be no parking spots in town. The town is in Blacksburg VA and it's a medium sized town.
They are absolutely getting paid even before the recent rule changes. A scholarship in football/basketball is worth anywhere from 30-60 thousand dollars a year in tuition, room, meals, books, etc. new rule changes have allowed name image likeness payments. But that is on an individual basis so you have a few players on each team who might make significant money but rest may be a few thousand or so. Itβs a very recent change so weβll see what happens
@8:00 thatβs Ohio State. About 107,000 or so. Bama is over 100k. I think I saw LSU which is over 100k as well. That video left off about 5 other stadiums that are over 100k. Including Michigan, Tennessee, Penn State, Texas A&M, and Texas.
These are just regular season games. Could be against a rival, but most of the time the crowds are sellouts at the schools shown. There are only 12 games in regular season which means 6-8 home games a year. Supply is limited
Our college football has a huge alumni support as well. It starts hours before the game with tailgating and just fills the stadium. Even high school football in some states is just off the chain.
These stadiums hold between 80 – 110,000 people. Big schools games are always sold out. Many schools are in small cities, when I was at the University of Georgia, Athens, the city where it's located had 11,000 permanent residents and 30,000 students, The stadium at that time held 80,000, now 95,000.
