Actually really sad didn’t find it funny at all. It’s a well known fact sports betting companies use computer statistical models and algorithms to effectively “fix” outcomes. This is why poker machines are unwinnable. Neurologically a win in gambling produces slightly less dopamine release into the brain than a hit of cocaine. Bookies use this to their advantage. Just imagine a lab rat in a laboratory being experimented on with an addictive drug through a drip. Now replace the mouse with a human and the drip with a poker Machine and presto there is the gambling industry in a nutshell. The punters are viewed with same amount of empathy as a lab rat.
There’s no need for their fingerprints on it when computers and corrupt officials can do it for them. The people who see through the facade are labelled “problem gamblers”.
I talked to an ex-English bookie who got out of the trade because of the levels of greed and corruption ruining the industry decades ago. He believes the good old day of the respectable book maker who gave a fair price on an exchange has long been dead.
The only way to beat them is for punters globally to reduce their betting so the market price on any given event is squared up metaphorically speaking otherwise it’s just a cash cow.
