The 1984 NBA Draft Class is considered to be one of the great in NBA History. With the greatness of Michael Jordan, Hakeem along other stars, some of the most forgotten good players from this class were overshadowed by the all-time greats. Here are 5 of the most forgotten players from the 84 draft class!

Um…Four of the best players at their position! John Stockton is absolutely a top 2-3 Pg all time. And Chatles is a top 3 Pf.

With two from that list I talked in my podcast: Sam Perkins and Alvin Robertson.

I loved Big Smooth in Indy

I will go to my grave defending poor Sam Bowie. For a very long time he was considered the biggest bust of all time, and it has honestly never been warranted. Now don't misunderstand, even at the time Portland should have known better than to take him over Jordan. Really inexcusable considering everything they knew about the two players. However, being drafted before a better player doesn't make you a bust. Neither does career altering injuries, unless the injury concerns are known prior to the draft. Unfortunately for Bowie, his injuries were known, but the blame belongs on the Blazers and not on Bowie. He was All Rookie in a class with a ton of talent , he had game. He had post moves, could shoot with range, excellent passer, solid rebounder, very intelligent and while he was a soft defender he could still block a shot or two. He had enough value even after the injuries to be traded for a stud in Buck Williams who became the final piece in a team that went to 2 Finals in three years. And when he was in Jersey, he was a very solid starting center, even better than solid at times. As well as the veteran leader on Net teams that would make the playoffs for the first time in the Coleman/Anderson era.

Bottom line, busts don't last over a decade in the league and start for a playoff team late in their career. Yeah, the Blazers messed up royally. But that doesn't change the fact Bowie was a good player when healthy.

    No Vern Fleming?

This class isn't as deep as 1996. But it's gotta be considered the greatest. And 2003 can't touch either one for that very reason. Not deep enough.

Clyde Drexler has a quadruple double in Houston.

How are they forgotten??? They retired with honours! #DUH

Alvin also holds the record for most steals in a season w/ 301. In fact, this draft class featured three of the greatest stealers in NBA history: Robertson, Stockton, & Jordan. Talk about an epic race to the steals title every year during their primes! Not to mention Hakeem being the only center to ever record 200+ steals in a season.

Man, Otis Thorpe and Sam Perkins were really good players.

  11. @dlove032002

I’m sure Otis Thorpe had some of the biggest hands ever! He palmed a lot of rebounds!

  12. @andrefaelnar

Man Alvin Roberston is underrated and had an impressive basketball resume and a hall of fame worthy player but due to the issues he had to deal with off the court, its sad that he was some what being erased from history which is such a damn shame 😔😔😔😔😔

  19. @guillermor9207

So it’s safe to say that Rick Carslile got ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED, ABUSED, DEMOLISHED, ANNIHILATED AND HUMILIATED by his opponents ON ALL LEVELS

  20. @brianfrancia3798

I feel bad for Eric Snow and Sam Perkins. Both went to 3 different Finals on 3 different teams and lose on all 3 occasions.
