49ers faithful did not heed the warnings. They were too busy falling for this kind of absurd hype that only happened due to the coincidence of Jalen Hurts being injured for 3 weeks right around the time 49ers were at their hottest:

Stuff like the above article created this illusion of them being untouchable and alone in the NFC. That whole vibe of inevitability came crashing down during the divisional playoffs when the 49ers struggled against a depleted unrested Cowboys and the Eagles, with Hurts back, blew out the Giants. At that moment, this ridiculous article no longer had any meaning. Would be a brutal struggle to win. All knew it. We still have the core of a very good team in place and will make another run next year. Hope they don't fall for the hype but take care of business.
