Doesn't matter(mostly) if LSU wins or loses they aren't getting in. They have two losses, a blowout by Tennessee #5 and then loss from #20 FSU. Even if they beat Georgia, it'd likely be close. A one loss Tennessee by Georgia is better than an LSU that got blown out by a Tennessee that Gerogia beat. Not to mention a Tennessee that had a better win over Bama. A Tennessee that has won 5/6 ranked games vs a possible 3/5
LSU. Even if they win out. Yet there is a possibility.
Vols should be worried about TCU. An undefeated conference winning TCU could spell trouble. If they win out undefeated and Tennessee goofs up in and goes 10-2 they're out and TCU is in(regarding if LSU loses to Georgia) . But let's say TCU goofs up and loses? Well just like Clemson who got blown out by 21 from ND they're out. Now the hairy situation.
Let's say TCU goes undefeated. Tennessee goes 11-1. LSU beats Georgia handily(keeping them under 30pts) and goes 10-2 winning out. Who gets in? Imo still Tennessee because of strength of schedule. TCU has played next to zero ranked teams, and cut it close against some weaker opponents. The BIG 12 just isn't that strong. Tennessee has played and won 5/6 ranked matches, the most in the SEC. While putting up PLENTY of points. An LSU that goes 10-2 still gets beat by a 11-1 Tennessee even if they win out. Why? They still got OWNED Tennessee at home and Tennessee put up a better game against Bama. Especially if LSU doesn't hold Gerogia under 30pts.
Concerning OSU and Michigan they're both in most likely. Regardless of who wins/ loses their match up. Then again if the loser of those two go 10-2( probably Michigan) they're out.
TL;DR What each team needs to go to Atlanta:
Georgia: Who cares, they're in.
Tennessee: Go 11-1 and have Georgia blowout LSU. Vols need to blow out their remaining match-ups. BONUS: have TCU not go undefeated(though they'll likely be picked over an undefeated TCU).
LSU: Win out. Beat Georgia in a shootout, put points on the board. Hold Gerogia under 30(Only Tennessee and Missouri have done that and the Vols ran up on Missouri with 66pts). Tennessee needs to goes 10-2 And one loss TCU will punch their ticket to Atlanta.
TCU: DO NOT LOSE. If they lose they're out. They won't even be considered just like a now 9-1 Clemson. Bonus: Tennessee goes 10-2 and LSU 9-3
OSU/Michigan: Win out. Or the loser goes 11-1 for the remainder of the season after a CLOSE match against each other.
My dark horse would've been a one loss Oregon . Just imagine: LSU beats Georgia able to hold them under 30, Tennessee goes 11-1, and TCU wins out. OSU/Michigan winner go undefeated and 11-1 respectively, while Oregon goes 11-1 ony losing to Georgia and blowing out the rest of their schedule 🤯
If USC and tcu wins out no way tennessee is going to the playoffs.
1. georgia
2. tcu
3. michigan
4. USC
How is lsu that high they lost to Florida state and Clemson beat Florida state plus they have 2 losses and Clemson inly 1 that's bs
Its gonna be Georgia, Ohio State or Michigan, TN, and TCU
Tennessee’s win over Bama is not that impressive this year!!
Michigan's a joke how in the hell are they ranked that high. Weak schedule as usual. Ohio st will destroy them. Compared to the top 5 they'll get embarrassed.
Tennessee better grow up it's defense, or it's first playoff game will look a lot like it did in Ga. The team has made great progress this year, but the championship isn't it. It'll be between Ga and Ohio State, and the gap between those times is wide I believe. Sure, I can be wrong but Ga is going to roll over every team, including Ohio State. I'm a TN fan by the way, but I'm trying to be objective.
no way Tennessee is not above TCU, LSU needs one more class and year as well as Howard at QB. LSU can beat Georgia but I dont think even that gets them into the playoffs
LOL…LSU at #6??? Why not just put all the sec teams in the Top 6…SMH. What a joke. 🤡
tenn is better than tcu but if tcu goes undefeated with a conf title, i dont see how they miss the cfp
UT should be over TCU. No question about it
LSU shouldn't move an inch. The Q cannot recognize pressure. USC against a 1-9 Team? TCU moves up a slot. Ohio Drops / Michigan Drops (I can't help who they play) Top Dawg has it's perk's. Tennessee Moves a slot or stays put. Tide and Tigers move up. Georgia/TCU/Ohio ST/Tenn/Mich/ Alabama/LSU/USC/Clemson/Utah…UNC with a sniff. Alabama chip and a chair.
Go vols. Been a long time
