Most people outside of Pittsburgh thought Kevin Dotson was a reach last year and he has turned out to be our best offensive lineman! Have faith in Green… he's gonna be a dawg for the Steelers.

Louie Tee, ever since the end of last year, I wanted Najee because the RBs we had? You gonna tell me even with a decent O Line, you could trust them? We need Najee. The TE? I couldn't believe we got him even though I wanted Creed Humphrey or Myers out of Ohio State or that bug O Line guy from Northern Iowa. Roche to me is a steal. The rest, I was like eh. And I'm always against drafting a kicker or punter. You can find them on the street aka Free agency. But yeah, I wanted Najee first then line up on O Line the next 3 rounds.

I agree with you lou. Just a solid draft. I told you that I’m not a big fan of it and I still stand by it.
Najee will be a stud for us for the next 5 years at least. Year one he might not be top back in the league but year two he’ll definitely take the league by storm. This was the right pick.

Pat is someone I definitely is going to be a stud. And will probably have the longest Steelers career out of these guys. I’m also glad we finally drafted a tight end in the fourth round or higher, since we hadn’t done that since 2007. Also our new TE coach is the chargers old one and he’s been known to develop some studs. He also was spotted at the penn state pro day having fun with pat. It’s also good to have a tight end that’s willing to block decently like ebron and actually catches most passes. Also has the physical trait that Vance would every now and then show. A red zone master/great safe target like heath and Jesse James. And I think he’ll stay a lot more healthy than ladarius green. So yeah I’ve been pumping up myself about this pick. Because I’m truly thinking he’s going to be a stud. BUT I will still be upset we passed on Creed Humphrey. He was a legit rock steady center that would’ve been a leader of our new upcoming o line for years to come. And we could’ve easily transitioned from pouncey to Humphrey. Yes it doesn’t help me that I’ve been watch Creed since he was a freshman on that beast of a Olkahoma offense line. And I wanted us Steelers to join the afc north and having some kind of great Olkahoma offense player (baker Mayfield browns, Joe Mixon bengals, Mark Andrews/Hollywood Brown ravens). And then everything our o line coach describes our next pick with, is the same exact traits in creed except 50 times better and he doesn’t have to develop/learn fully how to be center. Just overall I’m excited about pat yes, but I will probably forever wish we got creed Humphrey. This is definitely worst than the 2016 panic of selecting Artie burns and passing on Myles Jack. It just really really hurts.

Kendrick is a guy I just have to trust we know what we’re doing. Colbert was so dig in his heals that this was a deep o line class it felt like he just the well dry up. Kendrick could stop being on the ground and putting everyone on the ground like he’s capable of doing. But overall this is a big project to work on. Him and Dotson could possibly become IHOP. But I just don’t believe in Kendrick that much. I can also tell him and banner will be best friends too. This pick definitely should’ve been James Hudson the Cincinnati tackle. He would’ve majorly upgraded our run game and been a great blindside protector for years after sitting behind chukes for a year. But we forced our hand and we had to get a center at this point. And all of the decent ones got taken. I’m glad we got Kendrick over the Quinn Wisconsin whitewater guy but this is another shoot in the leg here. Just got a hope he works out. He has the potential but I rather have someone safe and doesn’t need development in the last year of Ben career and help pave the way for Najee.

Dan to me is just a swing tackle. We’re still gonna have to look for our franchise left tackle after chukes leaves next year. I hope the Steelers don’t dig in and think he’s good enough to be the guy. Like I said Colbert was so convinced that this was a deep o line class it hurt him. After the James Hudson to Cleveland, I was just drained and knew that this class was about to be average and nothing special. Just hopefully we can actually keep Dan as depth guy and not lose him unlike all of the other guys we’ve gotten in Hawkins, Feiler, Hubbard, Beachum, Finney, Gray, and Johnson. It’s just everytime we develop a good offense depth piece, we cut them for no reason to hope we can get them back and hide them on our practice squad. And it never works out that way. I like him as depth but not as a starter.

From bud to buddy. Good transition. But fareal I’m glad about this pick just because this might finally be the answer to our depth issues at inside linebacker as we’ve been looking for that solid 3/4 guy that isn’t absolutely terrible. He also seems like a beast on special teams. Him and Spillane could be special team aces for years to come. I still fear they’re gonna think Spillane is a long term solution to bush’s partner when he’s not. But this lets us finally put Vince to bed. I love him and everything he’s done but his time in Pittsburgh has came and gone. He was truly great with what he did with us. I do also like we got a real inside linebacker and not one of those safety/linebacker hybrids we’ve been getting lately. Even though I think talanoa hufanga gonna be a stud. I do know we wouldn’t have known how to use him correctly.

Isiahh. Yeah I agree with you Lou on he’s just a guy. Good news we need that because we can’t have buggs or Davis actually starting games ever again. They’re good guys to come in just for a drive while heyward, tuitt, or alualu need a breather. Not actually playing the whole game. But this is also a throwaway to Henry and Chris wormley. Henry I thought had depth potential for years to come . And wormley I really liked as he’s capable of actually starting games when one of the starters get hurt. And I thought he be potentially the long term answer and be a starter. I know we’re signing him to 1 year deals but still thought he could be it. I do agree we needed defense line depth because I just don’t fully believe in buggs/Davis (more Davis than buggs) but I don’t think this was also the right guy. I think this should’ve been Marvin Wilson from Florida st or Darius Still from West Virginia. Marvin was a 1st round pick until last season of disappointment and that was mostly the new coaching staff putting him in weird positions/situations. Or could’ve been Darius still who is the classic burst guy we like with upside but he would’ve known how to actually hold his ground. I don’t like our d line coach is trying to compare loudermilk to heyward because he’s not.

Roche was a great pick. Very good solid rotation guy that just produces. Can also hold his own and won’t get ran over like marsh and ola. I like this pick a lot. He won’t be a stud or starter because of Alex Highsmith but he’ll dang well be great depth piece. Hopefully we don’t get too upset he doesn’t play a lot of special teams because we’re starting to have enough special team guys where that shouldn’t matter.

Tre is simple. He’ll either replace Sutton as the extra db on the field or he’ll gone from the roster in 2 years. I’m willing to bet he’ll be gone knowing our luck with defense backs. I’m also tired of getting all these wrs turned dbs as they never work out for us. I think all of Steelers nation realizes our undrafted db shakur Brown has a much better shot of making the roster than Tre. I hope we’re wrong and Tre works out but just don’t see it. He could be the safety depth we’ve been looking for as Sean Davis left us again (don’t blame him) but that be a big reach.

I just hope pressley is the long term answer to punter we’ve been looking forever for. I just want a consistent punter. I know we play in Heinz Field next to the river with the wind, cold snow, and every now then the winds of the hills come down in the upper city too. But I just want a punter for at least 10 years on our team.

Overall I felt like this draft was saying let’s fix last year’s problem instead of saying let’s build for the now and future problems. We probably think we were so close last year and we sorta were. But there was lots more than just a few bugs here and there.

  4. @jlg993

I can't believe they actually took a RB in the 1st round. I like Najee but the problem was their OL

  5. @jasontaylor9944

Back with the wrap up series!

  6. @ralphnickens7206

I like this 4th round pick!

  7. @ralphnickens7206

I’m curious on what other linemen were available at the 3rd round but I’m intrigued on him absorbing the coaching and putting it all together and showing it on the field.

  8. @ralphnickens7206

I think their two young backs that are already there are really good young backs. Now, paired with Harris as the bell cow, they have a good stable of young backs for the future.

  9. @ralphnickens7206

    Ravens

  10. @RarelyEvenn

You alright, Lou? You sound a little under the weather.
