Could definitely tell alot of starters were out for Florida. Unless your in the playoff it's just not worth a possible injury, don't blame players for sitting out . Could cost them alot of money

Eventually everyone will just opt out. I mean I ain’t just the hugest fan of the playoffs expanding but maybe this will keep the top players from quitting. Anyone that thinks a business decision isn’t quitting lacks brain cells.

Bowl system is a lot better than when I was young (pre-BCS), but it's still broken. We ought to bring in 4 of these meaningless bowls for a quarter final for 8 teams for a few years, then bring in 8 more for a 16-team tournament in the 2030s, or thereabout. Make these games meaningful – people will attend, watch – lots of money, exposure for good players, and a better opportunity for the truly dominant teams to rise to the top (particularly teams that come on later in the season, or just have one bad game). It's just the perennial great teams/conferences that stop this from happening.
