Hi, my name is Lisa Moskovitz and I’m a registered dietitian and certified in the state of New York, with a private practice on the upper east side. I specialize in weight management, exercise and sports nutrition. And I’ll be talking to you about diets The Volumetrics eating plan is exactly what it sounds like. You’re literally adding more volume to the way you eat so that you stay full and satisfied, on the lowest energy dense foods possible. Energy density just means it has more calories in it. These include high-fat foods. Olive oil, peanut butter, nuts. All of these happen to be healthy fats, but they’re also very high in calories or energy density. Instead, you’re instructed to eat high fiber foods. The more fiber a food has the more full you are on fewer calories. Fiber filled foods include fruits, vegetables, and any plant-based food. I think this happens to be a great way to stay satisfied without eating calories. However, some people really can’t give up their olive oil and peanut butter.
